Tuesday and Wednesday have been rainy days. Tuesday afternoon, we had a shower of rain which cleared long enough for me to take the pictures of the roses with rain drops on them. Then, in the evening, it began to pour with rain. Today (Wednesday), again, the morning was cloudy, but, no rain, until around noon, when it started to rain. But, it cleared in the evening.
The pharmacy called me on Tuesday morning to ask if I wanted my asthma inhaler refill delivered and I said, yes, please. They estimated it would be delivered on Thursday, but, I received it, today!
On Tuesday, I brought in the trash cans from the curb, did a little bit of weeding, tidied and dusted the family room, watered the indoor plants, folded and put away a load of laundry I had done earlier, and handwashed two of my wool sweaters that I had knitted. I had stringhoppers for brunch, rice with chicken curry, green beans, and beetroot curry for dinner, and homemade baked potato chips for a snack!

On Wednesday, I continued with cleaning the family room. I took the dust sheets off the sofas and washed them. I covered the sofas with sheets I had washed, earlier.
Later, I practiced the piano, starting at the beginning of the book and playing all the pieces I learned earlier until I reached the latest piece, including ones in between that S had me skip over, which I taught myself during the last three weeks. Much later, in the evening, I discovered that there are some online tutorials for at least some of the pieces that I taught myself! I need to look into that a bit more!
Breakfast was a tuna salad sandwich; lunch was the leftover "roast beef and vegetables makeover" I had made the other day. I cooked a mackerel curry in the evening. Dinner was the last of the string hoppers with the coconut milk gravy and mackerel curry. Dessert was avocado pudding. There's more avocado pudding for tomorrow.
I am grateful for:
- Rain for the garden
- A good roof above me
- A home in which to shelter and be safe
- Pharmacy offering free delivery
- My daughter's help with online stuff
- A new scarf
- Roses in the garden
- Phone calls with family and friends
- Online chats with my daughter
- Emails from friends
My joyful activities include reading, piano playing, and chatting with my daughter
Thursday' To Do List:

- Dust my bedroom
- Vacuum
- Start the car

Lovely scarf, a nice project to keep busy. Of course it belongs to Dancer, everything in a home belongs to the cat (col).

You're having the rain while we have the sunshine. It's very sunny today but there is a stiff breeze so it's a little too cold to sit outside today.
ReplyDeleteI've done a couple of loads of washing today and hoovered the downstairs rooms. I'll finish tidying the kitchen and living room (not much to do in either room) and then I am ready for the Easter holiday.
I'm glad you are having sunshine, Eileen, even if it is too cold to sit outside. It's raining, again, today (a slow, weepy rain).

I have to pick up a prescription today. I signed up online to attempt to get it delivered but I just cannot manage to get it done. I called but the pharmacy said I have to arrange it online.
Oh well.
The pharmacy is in an old bank building and has a drive thru pickup so that at least makes it somewhat safer then going in.

DeleteI baked the chips at 350F, preheated oven, for about 10-12 minutes. Place them in a single layer and turn them over about halfway through the baking.
I'm sorry you couldn't get the prescription delivery set up (my daughter did it for me and she helped friend R to set up her delivery, too, because R couldn't set it up, herself). But, at least you will be able to go to the drive through.
Hi Bless, Every time I read your blog I feel like I should do more housework. You are very disciplined with staying on top of your chores. Dancer looks so cute on your hand knit scarf. It's wonderful to knit inside when it's raining, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Stephenie, don't let what I write fool you! I have been very lax with keeping up with the housework and am trying hard to get back to my cleaning schedule! You probably do more than I in terms of cleaning (you have mentioned you vacuum every day!) and I bet you keep a spotless house without saying a word about it. I, on the other hand, have to write down every little bit I do to reassure myself that I AM doing something! LOL.

I guess the rain isn't totally unwelcome when I think of the drought you had at one time. We woke up to find snow on the trees and ground and still snowing! But the temperature is above zero so it didn't hang around, neither did the blizzard of large flakes that came after supper.

We bottled syrup this afternoon, and in the evening I watched
live a Holy Thursday service celebrated by a cardinal in a cathedral.
The rain is very welcome, Bushlady, especially since we had very little rain in February and we were wondering if we'd have a drought year. This rain will help us avoid another drought, I think (all depends on the total rain fall amounts). Brr! Snow!
DeleteDancer keeps purloining all the scarves I knit! There is a white fluffy scarf that has become "his" scarf - he carries that around from room to room, especially when I leave the house (or he thinks I've left - such as when I go outside!). It's his security blanket!
I suppose that is the last of the bottling for the season? I watched an evening prayer service from the Temple, this evening. It's something new they've started since we can't go to the Temple. :)
I have never heard of stringhoppers before and had to look them up. They sound intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your cat has claimed the scarf. We have one cat who loves to curl up on top of the washing basket of clean clothes that has been brought inside :)
Stringhoppers are a little like rice noodles, and rather bland by themselves, but, they are good with curry. What is it with cats that they love clean laundry? Hope you are keeping well and staying safe during this time.
DeleteNo rain here! For once we've been enjoying some lovely weather so have been spending lots of time in the garden. Your scarf looks lovely and cosy, and Dancer clearly thinks so too. X
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are having good weather, Jules. I know you've had some rainy days, prior to this. Thank you; the scarf has now been folded and put away. Not sure if I want to keep it for myself or give as a Christmas gift, later (will need to wash the Dancer fur off, first!)
