Productive Tuesday

Peach Tree in Bloom
The morning, like most mornings, got off to a slow start.  By the time I got up (at 10:30 a.m., after going to sleep at 4:30 a.m.), fed the cats, had my tea, checked emails, replied to blog comments, and read/commented on a few blogs, it was already noon.

The afternoon was quite productive, however.

First, I made some egg salad so I could have an egg salad sandwich for brunch.

Then,  I practiced the piano, tidied and dusted the living room, brought the trash cans in, and watered the garden.

Afterwards, I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen - scrubbed the stove top and under the burners, cleaned the toaster oven, wiped down about two-thirds of the kitchen counters, scrubbed the sink, and replaced all the sponges and scrub cloths.  Then, it was time to have a cup of tea and eat some of the spicy snack mix I had bought from the Sri Lankan store.

I watched the evening news and went through some mail and this week's grocery ads while I did that.  Then, I watched the State of the Union speech and put the by now well dried sofa slip covers back on the second sofa.  This is the sofa on which Dancer tends to prefer to nap and although I cover the slip covers with an old sheet, there was still some of his fur on the slip covers, even after washing!  So, I went over the sofa and cushions with a lint roller to remove the fur and covered the sofa with two sheets!  I was just inserting the decorative cushions into their covers when my hands began to cramp.  This is the sign for me to stop!  I took my magnesium supplements and waited for the cramps to subside.

Later, however, after dinner, I was able to clear the family room coffee table and dust it.  I still need to clear the small dining table in the family room and dust the shelves, etc.  That is on the agenda for tomorrow.

Today, I am grateful for:
- What I was able to accomplish
- Flowers on the peach tree
- Bees buzzing around the peach flowers (and, hopefully, pollinating them!)
- A sunny afternoon
- Video chatting with my daughter

Today's joyful activity was being out in the garden, watering, and admiring the flowers.

Wednesday's To Do List:
- Practice the piano
- Finish tidying and dusting the family room
- Cook the chicken curry!
- Clean the rest of the kitchen

How was your Tuesday?  What are your plans for Wednesday?

    1. They are very pretty, aren't they? Hope spring comes soon to your part of the world, too, Natalia. Hope you, too, have a good day. :)

  2. Fruit trees have such beautiful blossoms. We had a peach tree at our old house. However, we could never get to the peaches before the squirrels, so mostly we just enjoyed the flowers but not the fruit. I hope you do better in that department than we did.

    1. Well, last year, we had a heat wave just after the fruits began to form and, I suppose I didn't water adequately, because all the fruits dropped! This year, though, I am hopeful that at least some fruit will form and mature. If not, the flowers are pretty!

  3. Wow! Hand over some of that energy you've been keeping from me. I need some of that. I have been trying to clean my kitchen cabinets these last two weeks, but the days just keep getting away from me. I feel accomplished if I can do one cabinet in a day.

Love those photos from the garden. The peach blossoms are so beautiful, and the crocosmia.....well, you know I fell in love with those flowers on my trip to California a couple of years ago. They seemed to be everywhere.

Go ahead and make your chicken curry today. Don't worry about the onions and tomatoes on my account. I do cook keto recipes with some tomatoes and onions (usually red onion), so I would certainly eat some of your chicken curry. It sounds delectable. Mmmm.

    1. LOL, Susan, it's the energy I get when I procrastinate on doing a certain task. I find anything and everything else to do while I procrastinate on the one task I should do. I have been known to wash walls and scrub floors when I procrastinate! In fact, I did wash a small area of the kitchen wall, yesterday, where something had splattered behind the toaster oven! Yesterday, the task I was procrastinating on was putting the slip covers back on the sofa. The covers are a type of cotton canvas and they have very little "give" in them, so it is hard to tug them over the sofa. I think, next time, I won't wait until they are quite so dry to put them on.

This morning, I'm paying the price for all that productivity yesterday, because I woke up with a headache!

  4. Looks like you accomplished a lot, Bless. And...don't you love that no matter how much you do there are always other tasks waiting for you? Hugs- Diana

  5. Peach flowers are beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen them. Do they have a nice fragrance?

    1. They don't have a fragrance that I can smell, Nil, but, then, again, I can't smell a lot of things! The bees, however, sure seemed to like the peach flowers! They were buzzing all over the tree!

  6. You are doing so well. You accomplish so much! Tuesday was very pleasant. I got some banking done, did Pilates, and finished my alpaca blanket. Today I watered the garden, paid my property taxes, trimmed trees, and will clean the chicken coop.

    1. Thank you, Stephenie. Maybe I did a bit too much, though, because I woke up with a headache that is refusing to go away! Sounds like you've had a couple of busy and productive days, yourself! :)

  7. The peach blossom is exquisite and the crocosomia flower such a pretty colour. Just what I needed to see on a Canadian winter day. Thank you Bless.
You did well to get so much done and putting on slip covers is no mean feat. I hope your hands recover well and no more cramping.
I heard a speech from a real hero today. I won't add any more but it did uplift me.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I have posted more pictures in today's post. :)

I think I might have done a bit too much, yesterday, as I have a headache I can get rid of, today! But, my hands are fine and I haven't had any more cramping.

I, too, heard a speech from a real hero, today, Bushlady. It's good to know that there are some courageous people, isn't it?

  9. Is that the little peach tree you planted last year?
The one M had to spray?
    It looks wonderful.

    1. Yes, it is, Debra. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, he "painted" the lower trunk with white glue to seal the holes the borers had made. But, the tree is full of flowers and, hopefully, they'll become peaches! Last year, we had a heat wave right after the fruits began to form and they all fell off!
