Happy November, everyone!
November dawned sunny and warm with a high of 77F. I made my usual milkrice for brunch.
In the afternoon, daughter and I went to the library. We dropped off our ballots at the ballot box outside the library and then, we went inside the library. We spent a few minutes browsing the shelves and I borrowed a book I had borrowed earlier, which I hadn't been able to finish reading, and a magazine. Daughter borrowed several books, too. She practiced her driving on the way home, which was nice.
Afterwards, daughter did some beading and I did some diamond painting. I am determined to spend at least 30 minutes (preferably one hour) a day doing a crafts project this month. It's an activity that brings me a lot of pleasure and yet, I often don't take the time to sit and craft.
Dinner was ramen noodles and daughter made a Japanese style pickled cucumber salad which was delicious. Later, she decided to bake a peach cobbler, using a packet of homegrown peaches I had frozen. It was delicious!
On the first day of November, I was grateful for:
- A new month and a new beginning
- Being able to vote, thanks to everyone who strove to obtain the right for women to vote
- Public libraries and all the resources they provide
- Daughter is feeling more confident about driving
- A sunny and warm day
The day's joyful activities included spending an hour or so crafting and going to the library.
Plans for Sunday include spending another hour crafting and doing some laundry.
How was your Saturday? What are your plans for Sunday?

It must have felt nice to have someone else doing the driving for a change.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to do the weekly shop today - I'm back on plan this week. Then, I've promised Lily a McDonald's. There's also a few items I need ro pick up while I'm in the big town. Xx
It did feel nice to have someone else doing the driving. Driving makes my daughter feel anxious, but, if she is living here, she needs to be able to drive herself places.
DeleteI hope your weekly shop goes well and your meal planning goes well. Lucky Lily! We are rather partial to a McDonald's ourselves! Hope you get the other items you need, too, and the coming week will be a good one for you.
That sounds like a wonderful, nurturing day and just what you need sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI keep saying it, but I mean it every time - you do the most amazing food!
Thank you, Lyssa. Yes, we are enjoying a nice, relaxed weekend. :)
DeleteSounds like a great start to the month of November. Sometimes we take for granted our ability to vote. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for all who fought for that privilege.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. It was a good start to the month, wasn't it? Yes, our ability to vote was hard fought for and we should remember that, always.
DeleteYay for peach cobbler with homegrown peaches!
ReplyDeleteHomegrown peaches make the best cobbler! I had my portion with some of my Bird's custard!
DeleteHi Bless! Happy November. I'm so glad to hear your daughter is back with you, and glad to hear all is well overall. That peach cobbler looks delicious! I sure have missed you and I'm so happy to reconnect.
ReplyDeleteHi Martha! Happy November to you, too. I was so happy to see that you have started to blog again! Looking forward to catching up with you.
DeleteThis sounds like the perfect kind of day and that peach cobbler looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteIt was a very good day and a good start to the month. The peach cobbler was delicious!
DeleteWhat does one have to do to get a piece of that cobbler? I'm sure you and daughter enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteOne needs to take the next flight down and come over! There's plenty of peach cobbler left to share and some custard, too (sorry, the ice cream is finished, but, we can get more). It was the perfect dessert. :)
DeleteThe peach cobbler sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda; it was delicious! We'll be enjoying more of it today, too. :)
