On Sunday

Red Rose

On Sunday, when I first woke up at 6:00 a.m. to feed Dancer (he didn't care that I went to sleep at 3:30 a.m.; he wanted breakfast), I looked outside and it was so misty that I could barely see to the end of the garden.  When I woke up for the second time, it was sunny and bright; the mist had all disappeared.

We had pancakes and sausages for brunch.  It wasn't in my meal plan, but, it was what I was in the mood for and what I felt like making.  Afterwards, I walked for 15 minutes, did a couple of loads of laundry, changed the dust sheets on the sofas, watched some TV (cooking shows), and spent an hour or so crafting, as that's my new goal for this month, to spend more time crafting on a daily basis.  I also watched the evening news and some online videos and watered the houseplants.

For dinner, we had "breakfast for dinner" - daughter, quite literally, as she ate the leftovers from brunch, and I had a scrambled egg and a microwave baked sweet potato.  Daughter had peach cobbler for dessert and so far, I have managed to avoid it.

On Sunday, I am grateful for:

- A sunny and warm day
- Time to do crafts
- Working appliances
- Emails from friends
- Kind blog comments

Sunday's joyful activities included doing crafts and walking in my garden.

Plans for Monday include:

- Going to my dental appointment in the afternoon
- Putting away laundry
- Watering the garden
- Taking the trash cans to the curb
- Crafting
- Taking down and putting away the Halloween decorations
- Cleaning the living room
- Making a meal plan

How was your Sunday?  What are your plans for Monday?

  1. You have one of the same goals for today as I do to take down and put away the Halloween decorations. :)

  2. You are so organized and productive Bless. I've never been able to figure out how you do it with your sleeping habits. I'd like to borrow some of your energy!

    1. Thank you, Martha. I am wondering if I sound more organized and productive than I am when I write these blog posts because I certainly don't feel organized or productive! Far from it! As for energy, I am anything but energetic! Everything seems to take a lot of effort, these days. But, you are welcome to borrow whatever energy I do have! :)

  4. I often feel that crafting (mainly knitting for me) is a way of taking care of the soul. It's a peaceful activity that creates calm as well as the craft. You're setting a good example.

    1. I do find knitting to be most relaxing. I am currently finishing up one crafts project and then, I have a sewing project half started and a knitting project to finish!

  6. I think meal plans are just suggestions that sound good at the moment they are made, though there have been times (lots of times) in our early married years when I could not afford to veer off the meal plan at all.

    1. Thank you, Anne. There are times when meal plans have to be followed exactly, aren't there and times when we have the freedom to change things to suit ourselves. My mother said that, when she first married, she used to sit down with her cookery book and make a monthly meal plan because her step-children complained if a dish was repeated two weeks in a row. She had a cook so all she had to do was meal plan.

    1. Thank you, Debra. The rose does look velvety up close. We decorated earlier than I normally would for Halloween, this year, because daughter wanted to, and I was ready for them to come down as soon as Halloween was over!
The dentist appointment went well, thank you. I've another one coming up in a couple of weeks!
