A sunny day with an afternoon high of 71F. But, it got chilly in the evening and I had to switch on the heater.
The day got off to a bit of a late start (didn't fall asleep until past 4:30 a.m. and didn't wake up until 11:30 a.m.), but, I did a load of laundry (the new sweatshirts and sweatpants), while I said my morning prayers (Yay! Multi-tasking!). By the time I finished my prayers, the laundry was ready to be hung up to dry.
In the afternoon, I dusted the living room and dining area, cleaned the fridge, walked for 20 minutes, again, took the trash cans to the end of the driveway for pick up in the morning, watered the newly planted ferns and chrysanthemums (with water I had collected in buckets while waiting for the warm water to flow from the taps) and made this week's meal plan options:
Brunches:
Leftovers (from the birthday lunch); corned beef sandwiches; frozen burritos; scrambled egg and toast, pancakes
Dinners:
- Leftover Thai garlic chicken madeover into a stir fry over rice or noodles
- Leftover corned beef madeover with onions, tomato, chili powder, etc. to be eaten with leftover roti or rice or pancakes
- Frozen gyoza/potstickers
- Soup noodles
- Leftovers from the madeovers!
I didn't cook the asparagus or do the paperwork, so they will get moved to Tuesday's To Do List!
Today, I am grateful for:
- Working appliances
- Electricity and gas to run those appliances
- Being able to walk for 20 minutes again
- Phone calls and emails with friends
- Warm knitted sweaters and socks and blankets!
Today's joyful activity was exchanging emails with one of my cousins and a friend.
Plans for tomorrow include a visit to the clinic for more blood tests and lab work. Other items on the To Do List include bringing in the trash cans, cooking the asparagus, dusting the family room, and that paperwork I didn't do!
How was your Monday? What are your plans for Tuesday?
Sounds like a productive day. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. Just the mundane, every day stuff that we all do, but, writing them down helps prevent the "where did this day go?" feeling!
DeleteI thought of you this morning, Bless - my kerbside recycling collection got missed!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the walking. X
Oh, Jules, I'm sorry your recycling didn't get collected! My trash and yard waste bins got collected this morning, but the recycling bin is still waiting to be collected (along with all the other neighbors' recycling bins - I guess the truck is late, today!)
DeleteThank you! I wish I could go on long walks and climbs like you, but, I am happy to be able to go for 20 minutes without pain! :)
You had a productive day after all. I also collect water from the tap when waiting for it to get hot enough. I take it into the laundry room and it gets added to the next wash.
ReplyDeleteDH went to the library and I phoned ahead to reserve his book and to ask if he might bring a few books that I wanted to donate. I was very happy that the answer was yes and I also threw in a DVD that I thought might be useful either on the shelf or as a sale item. I've been getting rid of some paperwork, too.
Yes, I did, thank you! :)
DeleteGlad your library is accepting donations. When I went to my local library branch to drop off my ballot, earlier this month, I checked to see if they were accepting donations and there was a big sign outside that said they were still unable to accept donations as this time. Well done on all the decluttering you have been doing!
Am always amazed at the amount you get done it day. Inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ratnamurti. Some days, I can get things done. Other days, I'm just a couch potato! :D
DeleteI hope you are feeling much better, now. Take care of yourself. :)
That sounds like a busy day!
ReplyDeleteYou have great ideas for food. I love the variety and imagination.
It was a productive day! I seem to do more on Mondays than on any other day of the week. Not quite sure why that is!
DeleteThank you! I madeover the leftover corned beef, today, cooking with onions, tomatoes, curry leaves, etc., and had it as a filling in a sandwich for brunch. :)
71 for a high is a little under your preferred line I would say lol
ReplyDeleteI am glad you washed your new clothes from your daughter so they will be ready to go.
You continue to build up your stamina for walking - great job.
You've inspired me to plant my mum instead of tossing it this year.
The blooms had died but there were so many new buds and the green looked healthy so I put it in a pedalstooled cement pot. I'm hoping it's hight enough to protect it from the bunnies.
Time will tell.
Yes, our normal at this time of the year is supposed to be 74F, so 71F was below normal. We were at 73F today, which was much better! :D
DeleteThank you, Debra. I experienced some body pains, last night (my bones ache, but, part of that is due to the medications I take), so, today, I walked for 15 minutes, and when I felt tired after that, I stopped and didn't push myself. I think the important thing is to be outside and walk, consistently.
Oh, I do hope your mum will grow for you! M brought me 3 additional discarded mums, today, and planted them in the same planting area. :)
