As always, the meal plan is subject to change!  I am grateful to be fortunate enough to plan and change the plans as I wish, secure in the knowledge that there is plenty of food to be prepared, shared, and eaten.  It is a blessing which I appreciate very much.

Did you make a meal plan for last week?  If so, were you able to follow it?  Are you making a meal plan for this week?

  1. I love your Monday "lasts". Tonight TheHub had brown rice with his meal which was unplanned but I cleaned out the pantry and found about a half cup of it and decided he had to have it tonight instead of me replacing it on the shelf. It is still not a "last" but will be Wednesday night when I use it as a base for his beef stew.

    1. Glad you liked my "lasts", Anne. :D Well done with using up your brown rice, too. :)

  2. I like that you make your meal plan but is subject to change. It wouldn't work for me as I'm not that organised. Doing a weekly shop online works for me, I watch the use by and best before dates carefully and decide on the day. I usually tell hubby the choices and let him decide. Sometimes I have to look in the freezer and will tell him the choices. We usually eat the same but he is much more of a fussy eater than I am so occasionally we will have different meals.

    1. It sounds like you have a plan that works well for you, Eileen, and that is what matters, isn't it? When my daughter is home, I ask her what she would like and give her choices. But, when I am by myself, then, I tend to eat the same things over and over again! Often, it is whatever is easiest to make! LOL.

  3. I do make weekly meal plans & lately I have been re-using the plans from two or three weeks ago - I just cannot think of new meals to make (col). Although this week I have plans for at least 1 new recipe. I try to make the plan as flexible as possible so that Monday's plan could work on Thursday or such :)

    1. I like your reuse of older meal plans! I've done that, from time to time and even otherwise, I tend to make the same things almost all the time! Chicken curry, for example - it tends to be on the meal plan every other week, if not every week! LOL. Flexibility is the key. :)

  4. I dreamed last night that we lived back in New Orleans and we had full lemon, orange, and nectarine trees. I think I was channeling your garden because the lemon tree looked a lot like the one you pictured. :)

    1. Oh, that's funny! :) Soon you should have a full apple tree! What other fruits will grow in your area? Cherries? Pears? Maybe peaches? Maybe you can build a small greenhouse and grow lemons and oranges!

  5. I really should smarten up and make breakfast for dinner for a change. I rarely have the energy to make anything much at breakfast time.
I opened a pack of bacon the other day and for lunch I made BLTs which were delicious. The rest of the bacon was divided up and frozen. My deep freezer has been run down quite a bit, time to stock up, although the bottom freezer to the fridge is pretty full We no longer really need the size deep freezer we have, even since installing a base of 4 litre containers full of water (now ice) to take up some space.

    1. I like breakfast for dinner! It makes a nice change from time to time, I think. :) BLTs for lunch sounds great. Maybe you can sell your bigger deep freezer and get a smaller one or make do with the one in your fridge? Every now and then, I think I'd like to have a separate deep freezer. But, I have a side-by-side fridge/freezer and I think I have ample freezer space (until the next tomato or zucchini harvest comes along and I'm scrambling to find room for it! LOL.)

    1. Thank you, Ratnamurti. I don't always follow the meal plans I make though! I changed today's meals and that was only the 2nd day of the week! LOL.

  7. That's really well planned. I am slacking again - and paying for it by playing the 'what's for dinner' game. I sort of have this week planned, but I am seriously lacking energy this week!

  8. Thank you, Sharon. I don't always follow the plan, but, it does give me an idea of the possibilities. Can you make some easy, low energy meals like a tray bake, for example, or a pot roast? Maybe just add extra vegetables in a separate dish to roast for you? Would something like that work?
