Thursday's Climb

I woke up feeling tired, this morning.  But I managed to get a little office work done before I left for my radiation treatment.  The treatment went well, although the technician expressed some concern over the skin discoloration in my underarm area (side effect from the radiation).  But it doesn't hurt, so I am not bothered by it.

After I came home, I continued with my office work.  But I also did a load of laundry, which I hung up to air dry.  And I also cleaned and rearranged two small bookcases I had previously decluttered:

There are still a few items that will get decluttered or moved elsewhere.  But I am very happy with how these shelves look now.

Later in the evening, I washed all the dishes that had piled in my sink and wiped down the counters.  Unfortunately, one of the glasses I washed slipped out of my hand and broke, so I decided that I will consider it the start of this month's decluttering!

So far in August, I have decluttered:

1 glass similar to the one pictured below:

1 hand painted ceramic souvenir from Sri Lanka:

1 small plant pot:

3 Physics lab manuals (daughter's; I checked with her and she said it was OK to toss):

I am not doing a certain number of items per day decluttering this month, as last month's marathon wore me out!  But I will continue to declutter throughout the month.

Today, I am grateful for:

-  Being alive.
-  Manageable side effects.
-  My daughter.
-  Safe drives to the clinic and back.
-  A productive day.

How was your day?

    1. Thank you, Lyssa, both for the prayers and the kind comment about the decluttering. :)

  2. I'm concerned about your skin deterioration from R treatment. I hope you are applying the preferred [RX?] ointment. You don't want to have long term side effects. Side effects are not necessarily painful but skin does annoying things [peels, itches, swells, dermatitis]

    1. I am applying the ointment given to me by the nurse at the clinic. I hope the side effects won't be long term or cause additional problems. Sigh.

    1. Yes, I found it a bit stressful to have to declutter a certain number of items per day, after doing it for two months in a row. I am not saying I won't do it again, though. It gave me the push I needed to get some of the stuff decluttered. 1 item (or more) a day is good. :)
