I could easily spend the entire day seated on the sofa watching the Olympics coverage and not do anything else. So, I made a To Do list to make sure that I got at least a few things done:
Saturday's To Do List:
- Put away the dried laundry - done
- Put away the dried dishes
- Put another load of laundry to wash; hang to dry- done
- Return my friend's call from last night - done
- Call my gardener - done
- Strip and remake my bed - done
- Launder bed sheets - done
- Make a wreath and birthday card for neighbor
- Attend monthly prayer meeting; give ride to cousin - done
I had a visit from one of my cousins and her daughter in the afternoon, as well.
Today, I am grateful for:
- A cooler day
- Visit from cousin and her daughter
- Phone call from aunt
- A pleasant evening spent in the company of family and friends
- Being able to air dry the laundry
How was your Saturday? Are you watching the Olympics?
You are getting a lot done. I haven't dipped into the Olympics yet, but I hope to do so later. x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lyssa. There is much to be done but only so much time, energy, and inclination! Hope your weekend is going well.
DeleteAnother positive day for you. ☺ We enjoyed a trip to the beach. It was wonderful to just relax, paddle and play on the sand. I do love a good 'to do' list. I have been known to also write down any extra jobs I do purely for the pleasure of crossing them off! X
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a lovely time at the beach, Jules. That's what summer is all about, isn't it? There is something very satisfying about crossing things off a list, isn't there? Hope you have a good start to your week.
DeleteGood job being productive while watching what you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI went on a wildlife hike yesterday but ever since I've been watching DVDs on my laptop because Greg is sick with a migraine. I'm using it as an excuse to be kind of lazy, lol. I'm hoping that he's well enough to go to work tomorrow so I can open the drapes again and do noisy activities such as vacuuming.
No, I'm not watching the Olympics. To be honest all the articles about the problems with holding such an expensive event in an obviously struggling area, Zika, the drama with the Russians, etc... has turned me off of it. I did use to like watching swimming, gymnastics and track & field but I don't feel the urge of watching those this year. I might make an exception for gymnastics though.
Nathalie, you are being a very loving wife, restraining yourself from doing noisy housework out of sympathy and consideration for your husband who is suffering from a migraine. That's your reason (not excuse) for engaging in quiet, non-disturbing activities like watching DVDs. :D
DeleteI think there have been one controversial issue or another with the Olympics almost from the start of the modern games. I think most people pay only lip-service to the Olympic creed of what is important is participating, not winning. I think half the problems with the games would not arise if more people kept that creed in mind. But I enjoy watching the games, anyway.
What's wrong with resting for a day or two or three? A month from now you won't even be able to remember what you got done those days. 😋
ReplyDeleteThat is a very good question, Marylynn. My only answer is that I'd feel guilty about "wasting time", about "not being productive". Especially when there is housework which needs doing.
DeleteThe Olympics doesn't really appeal to me. I don't watch much tv and even when I do,I only half watch it while doing something else.
ReplyDeleteI generally don't watch much TV, either. Sometimes I'll go for days without turning it on. I grew up without TV, so don't miss it. But I love to watch special events like the Olympics, Wimbledon tennis, coverage of the political conventions, etc.
DeleteProud you accomplished s much today..[Now..you can just enjoy the olimpics..smile.
ReplyDeleteI didnt do much today... Just the normal things.. [need a list to motivate me ha] I am still battling asthma, so not much air , to accomplish much.. I have appt with my doctor on Tuesday.. So hopefully will get rid of this soon..
