Here we are, already on the last week of January!
Monday had been a sunny, warm day. Friend R stopped by in the afternoon to pick up her packages. Later, I took the trash cans to the curb and daughter watered some of the plants in the back garden.
For brunch, I cut up an re-sauteed the last of the previously sauteed slices of chicken breast, adding some sliced red onion to it and used it as a sandwich filling. For dinner, we opted for a buffet style, selecting what we each fancied: I had coconut roti with pork curry and daughter had chicken curry and the pickled vegetables she had made.
On Monday, I was grateful for:
- Being able to help friend R by accepting and keeping her packages for her
- A sunny and warm day
- Flowers in the garden
- Weekly trash collections
- Water for the garden
Joyful activities included visiting with my friend and exchanging emails with another friend.
On Tuesday, when the pharmacy notified me that a prescription I had requested had been filled and was ready to be picked up, I was reminded of the fact that, back when I used to have a weekly schedule I actually followed, Tuesdays used to be my day to run errands. I need to update and revive that weekly schedule!
Tuesday was another sunny day. I brought in the emptied trash cans, collected the mail including this week's grocery flyers, and went to the pharmacy to pick up my medication refill. In the evening, daughter and I both worked on our knitting projects (she is making herself a scarf).
I had crackers with peanut butter for breakfast and I made fried rice for a late lunch:

- A safe drive to the pharmacy and back
- Working appliances
- My blood pressure was normal

Tuesday is supposed to be our errand day, also. However, I find we are not always so coordinated to keep them to one day. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not that well coordinated either, June. Lately, I've been running errands as and when I've needed to. But, I would like to plan my errands a bit better. I really need to revisit my old weekly schedule and update it. :)
DeleteYour sausage fried rice looks delicious 😋
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Fried rice is a good way to use up leftovers and stretch a few ingredients to make a meal. :)
DeleteI'm so jealous of the sunshine and the flowers. Please keep the flower photos coming. I am really tired of winter now. Spring seems so far away!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are having a few days of spring-like weather right now and the flowers are starting to bloom. I have taken several flower photos to share with you. :)
DeleteI love Gazanias. Nice to have leftovers to make a new meal.
ReplyDeleteGazanias are very bright and cheerful, aren't they? I like making a new meal out of various leftovers. Sometimes, I call them "planned overs" because I will often cook a little extra to make another meal from it. :)
DeleteYour flowers are so pretty Bless. :) My plans for today were to get laundry done (I got one load done so that is something right), shower and style my hair, and make a nice dinner for Jeff and I. The only thing left on my list to do now is the dinner. Much love to you my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. Good to hear from you, again. Hey, one load of laundry definitely counts! Hope you had a nice dinner. Take care of yourself and be well.
DeleteYour Fried Rice photos always look so delicious, that I'm sure you could open a Fried Rice restaurant!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. I do love fried rice! My daughter had shown one of her friends how to make fried rice when they were in high school and recently, that friend had told her that it is now her signature dish to take to family gatherings! Apparently, everyone asks her to bring the friend rice! :)
DeleteDai gennaio sta finendo, tra un po' arriva la primavera e con lei le giornate si allungano e finalmente torna il sole bello caldo
ReplyDeleteStefania said (per Google Translate): January is almost over, spring will arrive soon, and with it the days will get longer and the beautiful warm sunshine will finally return.
DeleteYes, Stefania; January is almost over. I'm looking forward to the longer days of spring, although we are having some beautiful spring-like weather, right now. :)
Your fried rice look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. :)
DeleteGosh all I see when looking around is white and more white.
ReplyDeleteSeeing your flowers and hearing about your temperatures warms me up and I wish for spring.
As usual, your fried rice looks very good.
I got a good sale on Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage the other day at $2.50 a pound.
I'm sure it looks beautiful with that blanket of snow over everything. But, I am rather thankful to have our warm spell.
DeleteYou got an excellent deal on the breakfast sausage! The ones I am buying are $2.50 for the 8 oz. package and that's the sale price!
I just looked and the sausage is normally $6.39 a pound so I was really pleased to see the sale.
DeleteI, too, looked up the price of the brand of sausages you bought! It's $6.49 on sale here, this week! Regular price is $6.99. You got a real bargain. Smoked sausages are on sale for $2.99 this week with a digital coupon ($3.99 without the digital coupon and $6.99 to $7.79 regular price depending whether pork or beef).
