On Thursday

Calla Lily

Gardener friend shared some calla lily bulbs with me, last year and this year, they are flowering.

Thursday was another sunny and warm day.  Daughter had meetings all day and I took it easy.

On Wednesday, I had done some sewing, sewing a new casing for daughter's bolster pillow and a new pillowcase for it.  I had planned to make another pillowcase on Thursday, so she could have a change of pillowcases, but, I didn't want to run the sewing machine whien she had meetings as the sound would have been a disturbance.  Instead, I knitted on her sweater.  I have now completed the front of her sweater and knitted the neckband.  Need to knit the sleeves, next.

For brunch, I made roast pork sandwiches, sauteeing slices of roast pork with red onions for the filling.  For dinner, I had some of my chicken and vegetable soup (daughter chose to have peanut butter and banana sandwiches).  For dessert, I made crepes/thin pancakes.

On Thursday, I was grateful for:

- A sunny, warm day
- Working appliances
- Access to internet services
- Garden flowers
- Time to knit and sew

Thursday's joyful activity was knitting.

Plans for Friday include tending to the garden with M, maybe some sewing, and more knitting.

What are your plans for Friday?

  6. I too had pork this evening! A marinated chop my sister gave me ages ago, that has been sitting in the freezer. It went down well with a bit of fried rice.
I rather like calla lilies. They sell them more (not exclusively) as houseplants here.

    1. The marinated pork chop sounds delicious.
Calla lilies would make good houseplants, I think. Now that Dancer is no longer here, I might consider having more houseplants. :)

  7. I'm so glad I dropped in this Freezy Morning! Just gazing down into the depths of this indescribable cally lily---the gentle torch in the bottom illuminating furls and folds no ordinary lily can make. Absolutely mesmerizing and I've looked and looked, imagined and made a wish, as well as been so humbled at the distance and remote golden recesses so delicately formed. Sublime photograph,

I've had my meditation, just over this page of your wonderful dailies, the small home things so significant, learned so young and simply a part of us, like smoothing back a lock of hair. I wish you smooth days and restful nights with sweet dreams til bright dawns to all the small things which make you happy. r
