Thursday

We were back to having relatively cooler weather on Thursday!  It was not quite 70F when I woke up and I don't think we went up to even 80F!  It was cool enough for me to wear socks and a cardigan until the afternoon!  What happened to my warm summer days?

I had a relatively quiet day.  I put away the canned items I had stocked up on, did some tidying, cleaned the litter box, called a couple of people to wish them for their birthday, chatted with friend R, watched part of a piano concert video that a friend had sent me, did the dishes, and cleaned the microwave.

Later in the evening, my daughter talked me through reinstalling the printer on my computer!  Of course, it refused to print, at first, because it said that one of the ink cartridges needed to be replaced, but, my daughter told me how to get around that by choosing the "black and white" option, instead of "color".  I printed out one document to test it out; tomorrow, I will try to print out the bar code I need to scan when I go in for my lab test.  It might be easier, and more sanitary, to scan a piece of paper than try to get it off my phone at the lab.

Today, I am grateful for:

- A quiet day

- Daughter's help

- Being able to reinstall the printer and getting it to work

- Being alive and relatively well

- Family and friends

Today's joyful activity was playing the piano.

Plans for tomorrow include more piano practicing, making a birthday card, and some paperwork.

How was your Thursday?  What are your plans for Friday?

  1. I'm glad you've sorted out the printer. I've yet to find one that is straightforward to use and doesn't use up ink cartridges incredibly quickly. X

    1. Thank you, Jules. Yes, these printers go through ink in no time at all, don't they?

  2. We finally had a little bit cooler weather, also, so I did some yard work after I got home from work. It seems that the weeds were very happy to keep growing during the warm, dry extended period we had.

    1. Glad it turned a bit cooler for you. I think we would all have very successful gardens if we cultivated weeds! LOL.

    1. Oh, no! I hope you are able to get your printer to work! I took piano lessons as a child, then, stopped. But, I decided to start taking lessons again, after I retired. It's good to keep my brain working! Hope things are well with you, too.

  4. Well done on getting your printer working again. Even with your daughter's help that's an achievement. Now you just need to replace the ink cartridges!

It's been quite warm here (25°C) with a few light showers. Tomorrow it's supposed to be at least 5°C warmer so I won't be straying far from the fan!

    1. Thank you, Eileen. My daughter claimed that she really didn't do anything, that I figured it out on my own, but, I think she helped me figure it out. :) Yes; we will be ordering new ink cartridges, soon.

30C can be quite uncomfortable when it is humid; I second your plan to stay near the fan! :)

  5. Good for you! How nice that you had your daughter to help. I have been loving this cooler weather. It's so pleasant. I've been sitting out on the porch, watching the birds eat from the sunflowers. It's the perfect spot to work on knitting my socks...

    1. Thank you, Stephenie. I am very glad that my daughter was there to help! She claims I could have done it by myself, that she really didn't tell me what to do, but, I found it helpful to have her on the phone with me while I clicked on various options! :D

I'm glad you are enjoying the cooler weather. It's always nice to sit out on the porch; good to see that you are knitting socks, again. :)

  6. Lovely that your daughter could help you with your printer from a distance.

In answer to your question yesterday, I'm now going grocery shopping every Thursday morning, and on Friday morning I meet up with my friend and we sit by the river, socially distanced, with takeout coffees. Afterwards I go to one store to pick up anything they didn't have the day before. They had run out of lettuce yesterday and today I got the last bag of romaine hearts! This afternoon I did a little laundry and hung it out and also walked almost down to the river and back.

    1. Yes, it was, Bushlady; very glad that she was able to do so.

Sounds like you have the grocery shopping down pat! :) That's really nice that you have the option of going to a second store on Friday to pick up anything you couldn't get on Thursday. :)

Hope you have a good weekend. :)
