Ten on the 10th

Blog friend Joy has started posting a monthly "Ten on the 10th" photo post and I have decided to join in.  You take ten photos on the 10th of each month and post them.  This is my first time participating and I chose to focus on my garden.

The amaryllis bulb that M gifted me sent up two flower stalks and one is blooming:

Sharing the same planting bed with the amaryllis are the nasturtiums:

Nearby, the rescued kalanchoe plant is thriving:

These are California's state flower:

The "Scaredy Cat" (Coleus caninus) plant has almost finished flowering:

Aloe (not Aloe vera) flowers, which are a favorite of the hummingbirds:

And hibiscus:

Roses:

More roses:

And for my 10th photo - the arugula (rocket) plants bolted, but, the flowers are so pretty and the butterflies and bees seem to love them:

There are more flowers in the garden and I took pictures of them, too, but, I've reached my limit of ten!  Hope you enjoyed seeing my Ten on the 10th.

Thank you, Joy, for starting this monthly photo theme.

  1. So many lovely flowers. I grow arugula/rocket for salads, but did realise how pretty the flowers were

    1. Thank you, Angela. The arugula flowers are very pretty, aren't they? The flowers are edible, too, and so are the seed pods.

  2. Such beautiful flowers. You don't see many purely white roses. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you, June. The white rose is on a rescued rose "tree" (standard) that M rehomed in my garden. :)

    1. Thank you for hosting the 10 on the 10th, Joy. I'm happy to join. Spring is the best time for my garden flowers. Summer gets too hot and everything dries up.

    1. Thank you, Sharon. I'm sure you are happy to see some early spring wildflowers there after all that snow! I know you enjoy photography; maybe you might consider joining in the 10 on the 10th photos in May?

  10. Very nice imagery for your first Ten on the 10th post.
That variegated plant underneath the beautiful red of the Amaryllis is particularly nice.
