On Thursday

Pink Roses

On Thursday, the primary care doctor's office called again to ask for some additional information and a copy of my insurance card.  They should have my card on file, but, anyway, I took a copy of it and emailed it to them.  Hopefully, they can now figure out what they need to do next.

Later in the afternoon, I went to the library to return some magazines that were due and to borrow a few more.  They are all last year's magazines, and even the most current issue on display was one from October of last year!  Maybe they are no longer getting paper copies of these magazines.  I haven't checked the library's online magazines, yet.

I also picked another handful of fresh blueberries which I gave to my daughter to enjoy.  The first blueberries are the best!  I still have quite a few blueberries from last year in the freezer.  Later in the evening, daughter picked a few more blueberries and pulled up a few carrots.

Other than that, it has been a quiet day. We had leftover pizza for brunch and dinner will be leftover rice and curries, so no cooking required.

Today, I am grateful for:

- Technology which enabled me to email a copy of my insurance cards to the doctor's office
- Libraries
- A safe drive to the library and back
- Flowers in the garden
- Leftovers

Today's joyful activities included going to the library and walking in the garden with my daughter.

How was your Thursday?

  1. During the pandemic, our library system stopped getting paper magazines and did not pick them back up later. There are only e-zines available. There are quite a few of those, but I don't like them as well as a paper copy. However, the neighboring system still has quite a few.

    1. I am wondering if that is what our branch library is doing, too. Maybe the main library in downtown is still getting the paper magazines but the branch libraries are not. I do like having a paper copy, but, I'll look into the e-zines, too. :)

    1. I am sure that in a month or two you'll have lots of lovely fresh berries and other plants growing up there, Diana. In the meantime, I've been seeing on the TV news weather reports that major storms are headed your way. Hope you are safe from them.

  3. Once again a lovely photo of roses! Our snow has almost gone, except for the huge piles where it was cleared from the driveway all winter. They will survive for a while yet.

    1. Glad you are enjoying the photos of the roses, Bushlady. You must be happy that the snow is almost all gone. Now you can look forward to the wildflowers that are sure to bloom. :)

  4. Those roses are lovely. I prefer print magazines over digital, but I only have a few that haven't switched completely to digital. One thing I really like about the digital magazines through my library is that they are from around the world. I love interior design magazines, and I enjoy seeing the different versions like the Australian House Beautiful. You should definitely check out the digital magazines your library has to offer!

    1. Thank you, Hannah. I shall look into the library's digital magazines to see what they offer. :)

  5. I sometimes will bring home a magazine from the free rack at the library. I no longer subscribe to any magazines but it's nice to have one now and then to leaf through. And then I return them to the free rack for the next person.
I've had a good month of decluttering. A really good month. Many things I was unsure of a few years ago and now wonder why I kept them. I heard someone say once that a maybe was just a delayed no as far as do I still need this item. I have found that to be true in a lot of cases.
    Your roses are pretty.

    1. No free rack at my local library, but, they are selling books for 25 cents each, hardcover/paperback displayed on a cart near the checkout desk. Sometimes, I'm tempted to buy one, but, then, I remind myself that I am not buying books anymore!
Well done on the decluttering! That's great to hear. Yes, I, too, have heard that "maybe"s are deferred decisions, but, sometimes, they are necessary. I can't say I've done much decluttering this month. Really need to get back to it.
