On Sunday

Neptune Rose

On Sunday, I slept in.

I had leftover pancakes with the last of the devilled beef for brunch.  Daughter made herself a bagel sandwich with a toasted bagel, cold cuts, a fried egg, and salad greens from the garden.  I had grapes for fruit and she had a banana.

In the afternoon, I spent some time in the garden, walking, taking photos, and enjoying the sunshine.

Monarch Butterfly

The butterflies were out enjoying the sunshine, too.

Pomegranate Tree in Bloom

I made a smoked sausage stir fry for dinner, with celery and carrots from the garden, fresh pineapple, and a handful of frozen green peas added to it and we had it with freshly cooked white rice.  We finished the avocado pudding and I snacked on a couple of dates, as well.

I ran the dishwasher and wiped down the kitchen counters and stove top.

On Sunday, I was grateful for:
- Another sunny and warm day
- Garden flowers
- Garden produce
- Time spent in the garden
- Working appliances

Sunday's joyful activities included spending time in the garden and doing a bit of weaving.

On Monday, I have a dental appointment in the afternoon.  I am not looking forward to it, at all, although it is only for a cleaning.

How was your Sunday?  What are your plans for Monday?

  1. I had the tiniest all sky blue butterfly flutter past me in the garden, quite unusual, but very pretty. I am envious of you having a pomegranate tree in the garden. We have very little fresh fruit here in England, either in our gardens or the shops. Apples and berries are our main fruits, most others are transported over from foreign parts.

    1. That butterfly sounds so pretty! I don't think I've seen a blue butterfly, here. My pomegranate tree hasn't been producing many pomegranates, but, the flowers are lovely. I've planted quite a few fruit trees in the garden, including an apple tree I started from a seed (which hasn't produced any flowers yet!)

  2. Spending time in the garden with beautiful flowers and butterflies would be a joyful activity for me, too.
    What are you weaving?

    1. I am loving being in the garden, right now.
My daughter and I bought ourselves two weaving kits, which included two small table top looms and some yarn. I am making a small wall hanging (or, it could be used as a mug rug, I suppose) as a first attempt. :)

  3. We have sunshine and a vast number of birds in our yard. No butterflies yet, the temperature actually went below freezing last night!

    1. Thank you, Linda. I realized, much later, that I had forgotten to put broccoli in the stir-fry! LOL.

  6. What a pretty pink rose to start off your blog post.
All of your garden images are so pretty this time of year.
I hope your dentist appointment went well.
I had a cleaning scheduled for Monday and on Friday I got a text and several voice mails saying they didn't have a hygienist for me. So my appointment was canceled. They said the first available appointment would be in August! I think they are having staffing problems.
I need to remember to call them.

    1. Thank you, Debra.
The dentist appointment went fairly well; I have another one scheduled in a week or so to go over my treatment plan. I hope your dentist is able to fill the hygienist position before August!
