Quiet Thursday

Today has been a quiet day.  I went to the office and managed to get a good amount of work done.  I stopped at the farmers' market on the way to the office, in the morning, to buy a baguette, but they were all out of baguettes!  I didn't see any almond croissants, either.  They had a type of cinnamon roll, but I don't care for them, so I didn't buy anything, today.  I had taken a container of yogurt for my breakfast and leftover rice, chicken curry, and cucumber salad for my lunch.  I had taken a banana, too, but I didn't eat that.

On my way home from work, I bought a pizza (1 topping large pizza for $4.99 + tax; it came to $5.43) and had some of that for dinner.  Then, I spent the rest of the evening crocheting and watching TV.  I don't know a lot of crochet and can't do any complicated patterns or articles, unlike knitting, but I can manage granny squares and baby blankets based on the granny square pattern.  So, that is what I am doing and I am using yarn I already had in my stash.  Later, I video chatted with my daughter.

Today, I am grateful for:
- A quiet day
- A productive day at the office
- A relaxed evening at home
- Knowing how to crochet
- My yarn stash

Tomorrow, I have to go for blood tests and other lab work.  I have taken a day off from work, so I can come home and relax after the lab tests are done.

How was your Thursday?  Did you have a good day?

  1. Did you finish the sweater you were working on or get tired of it and decide to crochet for a while?

    1. No, I didn't finish the sweater, yet. I still have to do the sleeves. I stopped that and started on the baby blanket because the office is planning to have a baby shower for the section head, who is having her first baby. They haven't come up with a date for the shower, yet, but I want to have the gift ready. I should be able to finish the blanket, tomorrow. Then, I'll get back to the sweater. :)

  2. I don't really have much skill In crochet and knitting. I can sort of do it but wouldn't want to wear anything I make! I'm much better at sewing and can make up my own patterns for things, and I'm quite happy to be seen in public wearing my own creations.

My Thursday was very quiet as I was overtired from the long drive home the day gefore.

    1. Being able to sew your clothes is a big skill, Eileen. My mother could sew clothes. I am not so good at it. I'll sew nightdresses and blouses to wear around the house. :)

I'm glad you were able to have a quiet day and rest from the tiring drive.

  3. I hope your lab tests go OK Bless and they aren't too uncomfortable for you.
A little bit of crochet will be a good way to relax when you get home. X

    1. Thanks, Jules. They drew several vials of blood! I'll find out the results on Monday when I go to my doctor's appointment. I am enjoying the crochet as a change from knitting. :)

  4. I DID have a good day yesterday. I got a lot accomplished and a few items stroked off my big To-Do list. However, before I went to bed, I checked my lab results on-line and discovered that my blood sugars are still creeping up. I don't know how to explain it so I hope my doctor has some suggestions. I hope your lab results are good.

    1. Susan, well done on all you accomplished. I hope your doctor will be able to explain why the sugar levels are creeping up, even after you've changed your diet. Hopefully, it is nothing to be concerned about, too much.
