Dancer - Horizontal |
I am considering using this picture of Dancer sleeping on top of the sofa back for the WPSH prompt, "Horizontal"; what do you think?
Today, I went for my repeat mammogram and ultrasound. I had to go to a new place, but, it was not too far to drive and the car got a bit of a run. I had called before I went, just to confirm that it was still on and they asked me to arrive a bit earlier than the usual 15 minutes prior to the appointment. I got there nearly 30 minutes before my appointment and watched news coverage on the TV set up in the waiting area until I was called in. The mammogram and the ultrasound didn't take long; the whole visit, including the waiting time, took about one hour.
Daughter had had breakfast by the time I came home, so, I had a couple of slices of toast with cheese. Later, I cooked rice, smoked sausage (sliced and sauteed with onions, chili powder and a spice mix), and warmed up a package of curried green beans I had cooked and frozen, previously, for lunch. We had leftovers from lunch for our dinner.
I did a load of laundry (mostly towels) in the afternoon, finished knitting the neckband of my sweater, practiced the piano, spoke with friend R and a couple of my cousins, and am relaxing now.
Today I am grateful for:
- Medical insurance
- Access to screening checks
- Courteous staff at the clinic
- A safe drive there and back
- A relaxed rest of the day
Today's joyful activity was knitting.
Plans for tomorrow include dropping off a couple of items at friend R's (and collecting something she has for me!).
How was your Thursday? What are your plans for Friday?
So glad you had your medical checkup. Many of these things are being delayed here in the UK as hospitals are prioritising covid19 patients.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angela. One reason why I called to confirm that the appointment was still scheduled. They are not located in a hospital setting, but, I just wanted to double check. I know that things like elective surgeries are being postponed, and, according to the news, paramedics and EMTs in my county are being told that, if they can't revive trauma patients within 10 minutes on the field, to not bring them to the emergency rooms because they don't have the capacity to attend to them! They are overrun with Covid patients!
DeleteYour Thursday sounds lovely and it's so nice when appointments go smoothly. Let's hope the mammogram results are fine. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miss Kim. Yes, it was a good day and I'm glad the appointment went as smoothly as it did. I am a breast cancer survivor and I am hoping with all my might that the mammogram results are fine and whatever they saw that required a second mammogram was just scar tissue from the lumpectomy I had!
DeleteDancer demonstrating 'horizontal' is a perfect choice for the WPSH.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the mammogram and ultrasound are out of the way and that you had a safe journey to and from the clinic.
I spent most of the yesterday dealing with the paperwork clear out and was planning to continue with that today but currently have no electricity so I can't use the shredder. So I'm keeping warm under a blanket and am reading. 😁
Thank you, Eileen. Oh, dear, I hope your electricity is restored soon, although a day of reading under a warm blanket sounds really nice! I don't have a shredder, so tear or cut the papers by hand!
DeleteI think that's a perfect picture for horizontal. :)
ReplyDeleteToday I'm hoping to have an uneventful day at work.
Thank you, June. I hope your day at work will be uneventful and peaceful!
DeleteI love your sweet little Dancer and that is a perfect photo for horizontal! Glad you had a good day and got in and out of the office quickly.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. I've a feeling that Dancer will be featured in several of the prompts for the winter photo scavenger hunt!
DeleteCats do horizontal very well and Dancer is obviously an expert! You did well to check that your appointment was still going ahead since you don't want to be out and about unnecessarily. I do hope the results remove all possibility of anything other than scar tissue.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a mild (just under freezing) sunny Friday. I saw the sun coming up behind the trees in the morning. I walked to the mailbox in the afternoon and was happy to see the pair of ravens that hang out around here. Then DH joined me for a walk down by the river.
Thank you, Bushlady; that's what I am hoping, too (that it's scar tissue and not something else).
DeleteI'm glad you consider just below freezing to be "mild"! Sounds like you had a good day. :)
Glad you got the appointments done. I love the photo of Dancer. He looks so very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. He does look comfortable, doesn't he? There's a permanent dent on top of that sofa back, where he naps!
DeleteYes! I think that's a perfect representation of horizontal.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your mammogram appt went off easily.
Dancer does horizontal really well, doesn't he? :D
DeleteThank you. :)
