Gifts in the Mail on Thursday

Crocheted Pot Holder and Bamboo Stitch Pins

Today, I received a gift in the mail from a friend: a pot holder she had crocheted and a packet of bamboo stitch pins.  What a lovely gift!

I had my piano lesson, today, and it was another good lesson.  I received stickers and candy!  Plus, another new piece to learn.

I had lots of tasks planned for the afternoon, but, I felt tired in the afternoon and took it easy.  I watched news, cut more strips of fabric for my rag rug, and crocheted.  Later, I video chatted with my daughter.  She, too, had received a gift in the mail from one of her friends who sent her a package for her birthday.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Gifts in the mail
- Kind sentiments
- A good piano lesson
- Being able to take it easy and rest when needed
- Being able to video chat with my daughter

Today's joyful activity was receiving a gift in the mail.

Friday's To Do List:
- Clean the bathrooms
- Pay the gas bill/Go to the post office
- The rest of Thursday's list!

How was your Thursday?  Do you enjoy receiving gifts in the mail?

  2. Stickers and candy? Well done Bless. Do you still have to be able to play your pieces from memory?

It's lovely to receive surprise gifts especially when it comes in the post. How thoughtful of your friend.

I haven't done much housework this week so will have to catch up over the next week. I too feel tired so have decided to go with the flow and not push myself too much.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. No, I don't have to memorize my pieces, although I've memorized at least a couple of them.

Yes, it was lovely to receive a gift in the mail.

You did quite a lot, in the previous week, so, not doing a lot this week is OK. You'll more than make up for it in the coming week, I'm sure.

  4. I love"real Post" - not event flyers, or advertising or other junk mail. We came home yesterday to find a HUGE box from Amazon in our porch. "What have you ordered?" I said "Nothing!" replied Bob. But it was actually for our neighbour. I guess the delivery guy left it with us because it was well sheltered out of the rain, and he knows we'd pass it on safely. But I did get excited for a minute at the thought of a surprise parcel...

    1. Oh, that would have been fun if the package had been for you! I once received a package like that - delivered to me, but, meant for someone on a different street! We had the same house number... I was able to contact the person whose package I had received and she came over and picked it up! It was a trampoline, she said. :)

    1. It really is, Debra! :D

My daughter has been teasing me about sending packages of lemons to friends and not sending a care package to her! So now, I will have to send her some oranges from our tree! LOL.

  9. The colours on the pot holder are so pretty. What a nice surprise. Good to hear that the piano lessons are progressing well, too.
I haven't done any more on the pantry! Yesterday the morning went quickly and I was out for a while, and in the afternoon I visited my friend.

    1. The pot holder colors go well with the green vinyl tiles I have on the kitchen floor. :)

Sounds like you had a good day, yesterday. Sometimes, we have to do other things, besides cleaning! I limited my kitchen cleaning to doing the dishes and wiping down the counters, today, because I didn't feel so good, most of the day.

Congratulations on receiving more stickers and candy! Did Dancer get anything? He should, you know. He always helps when you practice. 😀

  12. Your post reminded me that I never told you what my mystery package was last week when I wasn't home to sign for it. I had JUST ordered some special border stickers from a company in Great Britain. I've ordered from there twice before and both times the orders took roughly 3 weeks to arrive. This time it arrived in about 3 days, so I was not expecting it so soon. I was so excited to find out what it was...it was like getting a Christmas present.

I do my level best to keep the Canadian Postal service up and running. Every card I make is for the purpose of mailing out to someone, and that is because I think most people like to get a note card in the mail. We do appreciate our texting, phoning, and messaging, but I personally like to send and receive the occasional note in the mail. And packages?? Well, there is no greater joy.

    1. How exciting to receive your order so quickly! I, too, try to keep our postal service in business! I still pay most of my bills by mail...which reminds me that I have a bill payment that needs to be mailed next week!
