Resting on Sunday

I've been going to bed a little earlier than usual (for me), these last few days.  Last night, I was in bed by 12:30 a.m.  I woke up once, around 1:30 a.m., but, went back to sleep.  Then, I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and couldn't fall asleep, again.  Finally, I got up at 6:30 a.m. and had my morning tea.  Then, read and commented on a couple of blogs.  By about 8:00 a.m., I began to feel sleepy, so, I curled up on the sofa with a crocheted blanket and took a nap!  I'd wake up, on and off, think I should eat something or drink something (I am worried about getting dehydrated, again), but, fall back asleep!  Eventually, I got up around 10:30 a.m. and ate two tangerines, took my morning medications, and replied to blog comments.

In the afternoon, I napped, again!  I hope I'll be able to sleep tonight!

I am starting to feel a little better.  I am hoping that I'll be much better, tomorrow.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Feeling a little better
- Being able to take it easy and rest
- Neighbor T checking on me
- A sunny, if windy, day
- Lemon-lime soda!

  1. I am a very bad sleeper! Before I retired I fell into bed, read for awhile then I was out like a light. I hope you feel better soon!

    1. Thank you, Susan; I'm starting to feel better. I've got into the habit of staying up too late and sleeping in, after retiring!

  2. It’s good that you napped. I think it shows that your body needs the rest.

    I too fell asleep on the sofa, today. 😁

  6. I see in reading through the comments that you are feeling better.
    Sleep can be the best medicine sometimes.
    I'm glad you are retired now and you can treat yourself to napping when you need to.

  7. What a good thing you are retired and don't have the pressure of trying to get better to get back to driving down the busy highways to work! I'm glad to hear that you are resting a lot and starting to feel better.
    DH got back safely and it is good to have him around again, even if he did fall asleep watching Netflix with me this evening! After all, he has done a lot of traveling over the last few days so he is bound to be tired for a while.

    1. Ah, I don't miss those days of going back to the office too soon after getting sick! I don't want to jinx it, but, I am feeling much better, today. :)

      I'm glad DH is home, safe and sound (if tired and sleepy!) I'm sure you enjoy having him home. Are you hosting Christmas at your house or will you be visiting your son and family?

    2. They always come here, which makes it enjoyable to prepare although sometimes I have a sneaky envy when I hear of friends who are going to their offspring for Christmas. But as long as I can manage, we will have them here and I will have fun decorating and baking (although I did wake up in a panic last night when I realized how much I haven't done yet).

  8. Oooh, sleeping is so hard when you are ill- it's hard to breathe and then the nose will not stop running! It's great you are showing gratitude for the less horrid parts of life!!

    1. Yes, it is hard to sleep when you are ill - I pile up the pillows so I'm almost sitting up! Thank you; I try to count my blessings and list five things for which I am grateful, every day. Otherwise, it is too easy to complain about things and get mired down in self pity!
