Cooler onTuesday

It was a much cooler day, today.  The house was a very comfortable 80F when I woke up and the outside temperature was 84F when I left for work.  When I came home, it was only 88F, outside, which is more than 20 degrees cooler than it was over the weekend.

My daughter texted me early in the morning saying she had a low grade fever of 100F, last night and this morning.  She called in sick and took the day off from work.  Then, apparently, she slept from about 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and, again, from around 2:30 p.m. till 6:30 p.m.  She said she felt better this evening, but still a little tired.  We video chatted for a little while and then said goodnight.  I told her to check her temperature again and to take another day off tomorrow, if needed.  But she thinks she'll be well enough to go to the office, tomorrow.

I didn't feel like going to the office, myself, today (but not because I was not feeling well, jut feeling lazy), but I went to the office and had a fairly productive day.

After I came home, I relaxed for a bit.  Later in the evening, when it had cooled down a little more, I dusted and tidied the living room and the dining room and vacuumed those two rooms, the kitchen, and the hallway.  If it remains cooler, tomorrow, too, I will tidy the family room and vacuum it.

Today, I am grateful for:

- My daughter seems to have recovered from her fever
- She was able to take a day of sick leave and rest
- The cooler temperatures
- A productive day at the office
- Being able to get some housework done

Tuesday's To Do List:
- Go to the office - DONE
- Bring in the trash cans - DONE
- Put away the dried laundry from Monday - DONE
- Wash one of the knitted blankets
- Call the billing office
- Call the doctor's office to schedule the endoscopy/colonoscopy

I didn't launder one of the blankets but I dusted the living room and dining room and vacuumed.  I think that was a fair exchange!  I didn't do the phone calls as I didn't have time during the day.

Wednesday's To Do List:
- Go to the office
- Call the billing office
- Call the doctor's office
- Tidy and vacuum the family room
- Wash a blanket

How was your Tuesday?  Were you able to accomplish most of what you wanted to accomplish today?

  1. Hope DD is feeling better. We've had a run of hot weather in the UK for the past few weeks and I've hardly done any housework apart from the basics so I can appreciate you waiting until it cools downs before you do a few chores.

Not much longer now until you can feel as lazy as you like regarding work :) xx

    1. Yes, it is hard to do housework when it is too hot to move! I know, I am counting down the days! Just 7 more days to go, including today, since I have Monday off. :)

  2. Yes, I had a very good Tuesday thanks Bless. I've written about in over on my blog but in summary, I completed the skip runs, the laundry and lots of admin. It sounds like you had a very good day as well.

Sorry to hear that your daughter is feeling poorly and hope she is better soon.

    1. I think she might have caught a 24-hour type of thing or, she just got overtired. But she's better now and went to work, today.

  4. I definitely think that dusting and vacuuming the living areas of your home is more than a fair exchange for not having washed a woollen blanket. It may be cooler than the weekend, but those temperatures are still considered HOT. It would have to be cooler than that to inspire me to vacuum.
Glad to hear that your daughter has caught up on some of her missed sleep and that she is feeling much better.

    1. Well, the mid-to-upper 80s are probably going to be the coolest temperatures we'll have from now until about October. So, it's get the housework done as and when it gets cool enough. :)

Daughter is feeling better and went to work, today.
