| Nasturtiums |
There will be no shortage of nasturtium seeds, this year, to plant again, next year! I am looking forward to scattering them in other parts of the garden to see if they will grow.
Saturday was a cloudy, overcast day. The forecast called for rain showers but we only received a little drizzle which didn't do anything for the garden.
The white pigeon was gone and since there was no pile of white feathers anywhere, we are hopeful that it flew away, safe and sound.
We had a rather relaxed day on Saturday. Daughter and I walked outside in the driveway for 10 minutes and then, we strolled around the front garden and the backyard. She did her laundry and cleaned her bathroom. I shredded and cooked the kale I had picked yesterday and froze it for later.
For brunch, I cooked a package of breakfast sausages (from the freezer) and made French toast. For dinner, I cooked some pork chops(from the freezer), with onions, the rest of the carrots we picked from the garden, some celery from the garden, too, and boiled some frozen corn. We had some leftover rice with it:

On Saturday, I was grateful for:
- Garden produce
- Working appliances
- Good food
- Another relaxed day

Your nasturtiums are flourishing with so many flowers, and your pork chop dinner looks delicious. It is sunny today, so I hope to spend time outdoors in the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. I'm loving the nasturtiums. I hope you enjoyed your sunny day. It's been very cloudy, here, today.
DeleteLovely nasturtiums, I think my favorite flower. I plant a variety of seeds randomly throughout my garden. Your dinner looks excellent!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. I am going to have plenty of nasturtium seeds to collect and plant, next year. I love how colorful they are.
DeleteNasturtiums are so pretty, but I've only had minor luck growing them. Do you eat the flowers as many do?
ReplyDeleteI think this is the first year in a very long time that I've had any luck with nasturtiums. M planted seeds a couple of years ago and none of them germinated. He planted 5 seeds last year and only 2 germinated and the first plant was broken off by the cats or the raccoons or the possums when they were fighting and the second plant didn't do all that well. But, the seeds of thos plants resulted in about 8 new plants and they are what you see growing now. I am hoping to harvest several seeds from these plants for future plants.
DeleteI have tried both the flowers and the leaves straight off the plant and I wish I liked them better. I am wondering if I'd like the flowers better if I mixed a few petals with egg salad (and leave out the pepper). I've tried chives in egg salad and didn't like them as much although my daughter loved it.
Your nasturtiums are gorgeous. Your dinner looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. :)
DeleteI noticed plenty of nasturtium seeds, still in the soil from last year's flowers. Hopefully they will provide another colourful display. Xx
ReplyDeleteI hope so, too, Jules. :)
