March Photo Challenge: Drinks

The theme for this month's photo challenge, hosted by Eileen at A Bracelet of Days was "Drinks" (which I had the pleasure of choosing).

Here are my drinks:

Water

Flavored Carbonated Water

Faluda - from the Sri Lankan restaurant

Faluda - Homemade with my homemade rose syrup

Lemonade - from homegrown lemons

Rose Lemonade - with homemade rose syrup

Passionfruit Nectar

My Cup of Tea

Daughter's Coffee

Thank you Eileen for hosting the monthly photo challenge.  As always, I enjoyed participating in it.

    1. I don't follow an exact recipe, Angela, but, I pour about an inch of rose syrup into a tall glass, add one or two tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, add ice cubes, and fill it up to the top with cold water. You could add regular milk if you want it less sweet. Some people add cubes of gelatin, vermicilli, and soaked sweet basil seeds, but, I generally don't because all that require advanced preparation. :)

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I had fun taking the pictures, although, sometimes, we drank something that I forgot to photograph. For example, daughter had a mocktail with hibiscus syrup and lemon-lime soda at the engagement party, but, I didn't take a picture of that.

  4. Of course I had to look up Faluda to see how to make it! I always learn so much from your food posts. I like to try and expand what we eat and I have tried a couple of things I have seen on your blog and we have enjoyed them.
Faluda seems like it is a little above my pay grade, but if I am ever somewhere that serves it, I will order it just to try, because it looks very tasty.

    1. Thank you, Anne. Faluda is very sweet and a bit like melted ice cream. We love it, but, think of it as a special treat. If you do try it, I hope you like it. :)
