Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt 2023

Mary-Lou at Patio Postcards is hosting the Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt and the first link in is today.  I've posted the list of prompts at the end of this post.

These are the photos I've taken for the SPSH:

1. A Plant/Tree with Thorn(s): I couldn't quite decide, so I have two photos for this prompt:

10. White Flower(s) - the garden was full of white flowers!
10. White Flower(s): Lemon, Osteospermum, Gaura, Gardenia, Onion

13: A Sold or For Sale Sign (Not Necessarily a House) - it doesn't say For Sale, but, it's implied, I think:

  1. Well, that's a good start. I vote for the second thorn and the first shadows. What an abundance of blueberries. (Did you bribe Mary-Lou to include this prompt so you could show off?!) Love the white flowers - you could use the onion flower for "O"; in fact I have been looking. I have found lots of alliums in general but no onions specifically!! Never knew lemons had thorns.

    1. Thank you, Lady Ella. This was a bumper year for blueberries! I was very pleased when I saw that Mary-Lou had that prompt! Yes, I plan to use the onion flower for "O", too. :)

  2. You've done well with the prompts. I do like white flowers and yours are lovely. Strange that the sign doesn't say if the house is for sale, for rent or sold but any person interested can inquire I suppose.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. Yes, the sign is strange - I'll redo the photo if it changes!

  4. Thanks Bless for joining in to the SPSH. Lemons have thorns, I did not know. Oh yes to your berry berry delicious photos. My garden is also filled with white flowers, so it was a hard choice of which to include. I rather like your collage of your white flowers; different shapes, different textures.

    1. I enjoy participating in it, Mary-Lou. Thank you for hosting the SPSH. Yes, these lemons (Meyer Lemons), at least, have thorns!

  5. It's always interesting to see how you do the prompts. I think my favorite is the passion fruit.

  6. Altogether a good selection for the prompts. The blueberries look so pretty and delicious. I'm not fond of plants with thorns, except perhaps roses. I had an indoor fern that produced nasty little thorns along its stalks.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I had an abundance of blueberries, this year! And the funny thing is, yesterday, I noticed that one of the bushes is starting to flower, again! The thorns make it a real challenge to pick lemons that are in the middle of the lemon trees, which I keep rather compact by pruning. Ouch on the fern with thorns!

  9. Oh fun. I always enjoy these photo challenges.
I never knew lemon plants had thorns. Really? Gosh, how did I not know that? What a bountiful blueberry bush!
I like the shadow pictures. The wall one especially.

    1. Thank you, Debra. I don't know if all lemon trees have thorns, but, the ones in my garden do! They are very long, too, and make picking lemons a difficult task! The blueberry bushes were very bountiful, this year! I'm still picking a few berries, each day, as they ripen!

  10. I'm smiling at your lemon tree. Mine looks to be growing good and strong, although I haven't noticed any thorns. I always think of you whenever I'm looking at it. X

    1. Maybe your lemon tree will grow without thorns! I feel honored that you think of me when you look at your lemon tree! The baby lemon tree that sprouted in the middle of the yard is coming along nicely, too - I must take a picture of it, soon. :)
