A New Week on Monday

Old Rose Photo

This is a photo I had taken earlier: I didn't find anything to photograph when I went out to the garden, today.  The garden is quickly transitioning to its scorched summer phase!

I did a load of laundry this morning and remade my bed with the second set of sheets.  Then, a certain Dancer cat got onto the clean sheets before I could cover the bed with a dust sheet and made a bit of a mess, so I had to strip the bed, again, and wash the bottom sheet and the blanket!  I am thankful for a working washing machine!

I spent a fairly relaxed afternoon, making a meal plan, playing some online games, etc.

Later, in the evening, I cleaned the litter box, took the one trash can to the curb, and watered the back garden.  Still later in the evening, I video chatted with my daughter.

Brunch was leftover waffles with beef curry.  Dinner was rice, beef curry, and cucumber salad.

On Monday, I was grateful for:

- A working washing machine!
- Water for the garden
- The warm weather
- Emails from friends
- Dancer's cat food was delivered to the door

Monday's joyful activities included being in the garden and video chatting with my daughter.

Plans for Tuesday include a little more housework and sewing.

How was your Monday?  What are your plans for Tuesday?

  1. That's a lovely pink rose. Oh Dancer, he does keep you busy doesn't he. I've no need to water our garden as we are having so much rain every day and it's raining hard right now as I type this comment to you.

    1. Thank you, Eileen; I really like how this rose photographed. Yes, Dancer does keep me busy! But, he's getting up there in years and, I guess, one has to expect he will need more care as he ages.
I'm sorry the weather has been so wet over there! Hope the rain will cease and you'll have some warmer, sunny days soon.

Sometimes it is the little things like a working washing machine that turn out to be most important.

  4. Gorgeous rose photo! Dancer was trying to be helpful! I had a cat who would always throw up on my clean sheets. I'd close her out when changing them, but sometimes I'd forget. Gotta love them anyway!

Yes, Dancer loves to help with making the beds! He's getting to be an old cat, but, he's doing a bit better after the arthritis injections. :)

  6. The rose is beautiful. No sign of anything scorched over here. The grass is lush and green once again, and growing apace!
I hope Dancer is okay. X

    1. Thank you, Jules. I'm glad things have turned lush and green for you. You must have had some rain! Dancer is doing better, thank you. Still throwing up from time to time, but, starting climb up onto furniture with less effort. :)

  7. Such a beautiful pale pink rose. Where is that particular bush planted in your yard? Does it give you a lot of blooms?

    1. Isn't it pretty? The bush is in the back garden, near the calamondin tree and the nectarine tree. The plant nearly died, last summer, and we pruned it all the way back to just one cane. It's still struggling, but, I'm hopeful that it will survive this summer, too.
