DeleteGreat photos! Watching M on the roof would have really stressed me out though. Thankfully he didn't fall off. Mr. Dancer is the purrfect fit for this challenge.

DeleteA great selection of photos, Bless. I was wondering how you'd include Dancer this time ... I was thinking moody and hadn't considered 'Mr' at all. I love the masks. Were they brought over from Sri Lanka or did you find them in the USA?

Thank you, Eileen. Moody would have been good, too, but, Mr. was what occurred to me (one of my cousins always calls him Mr. Dancer). The masks were brought from Sri Lanka; the one at the top was a gift, the others were purchased on various visits to SL. I spotted one such mask on a photo of a canal boat that Lady Ella had posted on one of her earlier posts and was very amused! They are supposed to ward off evil spirits. :)

ReplyDeleteYesterday afternoon we had a mass of snow which coated all the trees. This morning we woke up to rain, which turned to snow, which then gave way to sunshine. The weather can't make its mind up!
Thank you, Bushlady. I love the M for Majesty; Dancer is definitely the king of this particular castle! LOL. I haven't had my brunch yet, but, I'm looking forward to my milkrice (and mackerel curry).

Ah well I lost a bet with myself that Dancer would feature as your MOGGY, but maybe he deems that term too disrespectful to be used in writing. Luckily I didn't actually lay any money on it! It's a nice pic though. I'm amused by the term "steer manure". Favourite picture is definitely the masks - what a fabulous array, and actually quite pretty rather ... than scary per se.
ReplyDeleteOops! Sorry you lost the bet with yourself. Moggy is not a term I tend to use and I didn't think of it. My cousin N always refers to Dancer as Mr. Dancer, so, that's what came to mind.
DeleteHm, steer manure; better than the alternative term, I suppose? We used to say cow dung in Sri Lanka.
As for the masks - I remember seeing a similar one on one of your canal boat photos from a few years ago; I think I commented on it. I originally took the photo for a different challenge, but, I decided to use it here, too (if only because I was too lazy to photograph the other masks that we've been wearing, especially during these past 3 years!)
I do remember the narrowboat with the Sri Lankan mask and little Buddha, and I recall your comment on that post. It's nice to see your collection.
DeleteI'm amused that the manure is specified as being from steers, of all the bovines in general. I wonder if they can prove there is no cow/calf/bull manure mixed in...! I think here they tend to sell bags labelled "farmyard manure" (but I'm not an expert!)
No worries about the lost bet. I'm not out of pocket. 🙂 Laurie had some pet treats called "mutt and moggy snacks" which was quite quirky. Mr is more respectful.
That's an interesting observation about the contents of the bag of steer manure! Maybe we can bring a suit about false advertising and have the company prove that it is 100% certifiable steer manure! :D

DeleteYay! You went out without a coat! It's 57F14 C here, at 2:15 p.m. and the online weather forecast specifies "a light jacket"! I went outside wearing a poncho over my sweater to bring in the trash can and it was chilly!

DeleteYes, that is a purple painted wall! :D Lilac, actually, but, the actual hue changes depending on the shadows. It's the hallway from the living room to the bedrooms. I painted it lilac many years ago. :)
