Dancer Takes it Easy |
Neither Dancer nor I felt very energetic, today. He woke me up early, demanding breakfast; I gave him his breakfast and went back to bed! Then, slept most of the morning! I still felt rather tired after I woke up. But, I got a load of laundry washed and hung up to dry, walked around the garden for a bit, did a tiny bit of weeding, picked lettuce for a salad, and started the car. I didn't take a walk today as I didn't feel up to it. Instead, I watched some videos and continued to repair the quilt. Later, I watched news, called friend R, and video chatted with my daughter.
Brunch was a salad with lettuce from the garden, grapes, and almonds, with bottled French dressing. Dinner was chicken curry with lavash flat bread. More grapes and yogurt for dessert.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Being able to sleep in as needed
- Electricity and working appliances
- Fresh lettuce from the garden
- The car started
- Being able to video chat with my daughter
Today's joyful activity was watching online videos.
Plans for tomorrow include tending to the garden with M.
We all have those less than energetic days, but you still managed to get things done. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. :)
DeleteIt's nice to have a lie-in especially when your body lets you know it's needed. Dancer has the right idea too:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen. :)
DeleteI guess Dancer wore himself out with his early breakfast and wore you out as well! I didn't walk to the mailbox yesterday as I picked up the mail on the way back from town. I did wander round the yard, right down the ravine to the creek and back up the steep way, which was quite a workout. The dog next door came over while I was outside, but was not looking for treats, just inspecting the yard to see what had been around. Later, while I was preparing supper, I looked out the window and saw a beautiful fox! He headed off to the back before I could grab my camera, but I was able to call DH to take a look.
ReplyDeleteI just wasn't feeling motivated to do much, yesterday. Sounds like you got in a nice walk, even if you didn't go to get the mail, with a little company for part of it. :) Oh, how wonderful to catch a glimpse of a fox! I recall seeing one when I was in Wisconsin - I had woken up very early (there was a time when I did that!) and gone for a walk and happened to see a fox. I still remember that!
DeleteDancer knows how to relax doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteSounds like you both had a nice relaxing day.
It is still cool here with highs in the 50's and lows in the 40's at night.
I am perfectly happy with those temperatures but I know many are wanting it warmer.
It is nice to do the spring yard work when the temperatures are cool.
I think we are having leftover angel hair with kale pesto tonight.
Oh, he sure does!
DeleteThank you, Debra.
Glad you are enjoying the temperatures you are having. I see that you made your kale pesto. :)
It sounds like a restful day was just what you (and Dancer) needed. Xx
ReplyDeleteIt was, Jules; a quiet restful day was just what we both needed. :)
