Hot on Wednesday, Too

Dancer Says The Tiles Are Cool

Another hot day, today, but slightly cooler than yesterday, with a high of only 97F.  Dancer spent most of the day sprawled on the tiled bathroom floor!

M was here this morning to water the garden, both front and back.  We discussed water-wise gardening and some possible plants for the front garden, but, didn't make any decisions.

Handmade Card

In the afternoon, I made a card to mail to my oldest half-brother; his birthday is not until mid-October, but, it takes time for cards to go to Sri Lanka.  I adapted a card design I saw online and I think it worked out OK, but, I see room for improvement!  But, before I make any more cards, I need to sit down and make some envelopes as I've used up almost all the envelopes I had on hand!

I am feeling a little stressed about a medical billing notice I received in the mail, today, about non-payment to date by my insurance for the abdominal ultra-sound I had done, per my doctor's referral, back in June.  According to the letter, it is just a notification and I don't have to do anything, but, I am a bit stressed about the whole thing.  There is a number to call and maybe I'll do that, tomorrow, to find out more.  They haven't said how much the bill is for, but, I don't think it would be for a small amount!  But, I did sign forms agreeing to be liable for the cost if insurance doesn't cover it, so, I will pay it if insurance will not pay!

I had a tuna salad sandwich for brunch, today.  I didn't feel very hungry for dinner, so I had a chicken curry sandwich and some mango for dinner.

Today, I am grateful for:
- M tending to the garden for me
- My stash of scrapbooking/cardmaking supplies
- Electricity to run the fans
- Delivery services (Dancer's flea prevention medicines)
- The billing notice I received is not a bill - yet!

Today's joyful activity was making a birthday card for my half-brother.

Plans for tomorrow include some paperwork (there are other bills that need to be paid!) and preparing for the bone density scan that is scheduled for Friday.

How was your Wednesday?  What are your plans for Thursday?

  1. I do hope you don't have a big bill to pay. If I were you I'd check that number before you call them as the letter sounds rather vague. I'd hate to think you may phone someone and they ask you to pay over the phone there and then. Of course I know nothing about how your health system works we are very fortunate to have the NHS.but do be careful.
I like the card you made for your half-brother. I hope your Friday scan goes well, I go fort he scan on my arm today, I have a lump that is not painful itself but is pressing on nerves which makes my arm hurt to use.

    1. Thank you, Eileen (I am assuming it's you, since you mentioned arm scan). You make a good point about checking the number before I call. Maybe I should just wait to see if I do receive a bill as the notification letter says I am not required to do anything, right now. I hope your arm scan goes well, today. I am also hoping that you are feeling well after your booster jab!

    2. It is me Bless and don't know why I'm now anonymous. I think you're right, best to wait and see if you receive a bill. Thank you for your well wishes and I did have a bad reaction to the booster jab I had on Monday morning and only started to feel well again yesterday.

    3. Well you are no longer anonymous! :D I'm so sorry to hear that you had a bad reaction to the booster jab. But, I'm glad you are feeling a little better, now. I think I will wait until I get an actual bill. Maybe insurance is a bit slow to pay. :)

  2. I wouldn't worry about the notice until they say there's a bill. Then you can call and straighten it out. However, that's easier said than done, so a call might be just what you need to easy your worry. Good luck.

    1. Thank you, June; yes, I slept on it and have decided to wait until I receive an actual bill and then, call. "Don't trouble Trouble till Trouble troubles you", my mother used to say. :D Maybe insurance takes more than 3 months to pay! Who knows?

  3. Dancer does "cool" very well, doesn't he? I hope you can sort out the disturbing letter regarding the ultrasound payment. Maybe it will sort itself out in due course, so I hope you don't let it worry you as you seem to have done what was necessary. I like the birthday card. Did you write "Happy Birthday" on it, it is very neat.
We don't socialize much at home so after a late reception (and I hardly drank anything), I needed a good nap today!

    1. Dancer is definitely good at being "cool"! :D
Thank you, Bushlady; I have decided to take the letter at face value when it says no action is required on my part! I will wait and see and act if and when I get an actual bill. Maybe my insurance drags its feet when it comes to paying bills!
Yes, I wrote out the "Happy Birthday" and thank you for saying it was very neat!
Socializing takes effort and it is very tiring, I agree! Glad you were able to nap and recuperate! :D

  4. Poor Dancer. Please pass on gentle scritches. Sending all good vibes for the bill. No matter what happens, it's bound to cause worry. Take care.

    1. Dancer is getting extra servings of tuna to make up for his discomfort during these hot days. :) It is supposed to cool off, next week.
Thank you, Lyssa; I have decided I will wait until they actually bill me, since this was just a notification that insurance has not paid yet, after 3 months, and the letter says no action is needed on my part. My mother used to say, "Don't trouble Trouble until Trouble troubles you" and mothers are usually right, aren't they? :)

  5. What a beautiful and! I love that you make these yourself! Hope you won’t owe for the bill. Medical tests can be so expensive.

  6. Dancer has the right idea. Mog always seems to go upstairs when it's hot - the warmest part of the house! I hope you manage to get your bill sorted. X

  7. Try not to worry too much about the bill notification - since "C" administrative duties at a lot of businesses are just so very backlogged, and that is probably the case for the insurance. Crossing my fingers that that is the case.

    1. Thank you, Susanne; I'm hoping that it is a matter of insurance offices being backlogged, as you say. :)

  8. I think that's good advice from Eileen and best to wait until you get an actual bill. If you are worried or don't want to wait you could always phone the medical centre where you had the ultra sound done to see if there is a problem with payment.

I like the card you've made for you half-brother. x

    1. Thank you, Eileen; yes, I'm going to wait and see if I get an actual bill. Maybe the insurance company is a bit late in paying.

Thank you; I wasn't very happy with the banner with the greeting, but, it's OK. :)

  9. Things like your notice of potential problem can be so worrisome.
I would probably feel just like you do.
I see you've decided to just wait and see how it goes and if you get a bill and that's probably for the best.
Dancer has a good cool spot!

    1. That notice made me feel very anxious. In the end, I called about it (yesterday and today) and I feel much better, now. I think (I hope) it will be resolved.
Dancer has his spots picked out for maximum comfort! :D
