Snowball Enjoying the Front Flower Bed on Wednesday
|
Snowball was one of the garden cats. She was sweet and funny and loved to climb trees:

Climbing the Window Screen |
She had survived a deep gash to the side of her neck, earlier this year, but, she had been a bit subdued this week. Yesterday, she curled up in a flower pot, squashing the plant that was growing in there and I didn't have the heart to chase her away. I heard her meowing outside my window this morning, but, didn't appear when I went to feed her. I looked for her in the garden in the afternoon, but, I didn't see her. Later in the evening, when M was watering the back garden, he found her body near the back wall and we buried her. You will be missed, Snowball.

Dancer and Snowball, Chatting, Last Week |
I hope you have found a lovely tree to climb and nap in, free from that mockingbird who was always chasing you! Thank you for the memories.
She had a lovely garden to call home.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. :)
DeleteI'm sorry to read this, Bless. She had a safe haven in your garden, and always the promise of a meal.
ReplyDeleteI love the photograph of her in the Calamondin tree.
Sleep peacefully, Snowball. Xx
Thank you, Jules. Yes, she'd tap at the sliding glass door to demand feeding, in the morning and evening! :D
DeleteOh Bless I am so sorry. She was surely very happy in your garden and had a good life.
ReplyDeleteShe always came to my garden for her meals and she and Dancer would chat through the door! I'm going to miss her!
DeleteAww another of God's creatures who passed away peacefully in your lovely garden.
ReplyDeleteYes! She was quite a character and I'll miss her. But, she did enjoy my garden. :)
DeleteYour garden is a safe haven for animals. They can tell a kind soul lives there. I know Snowball will be missed.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. Yes, the animals who visit my garden are mostly allowed to be, unless they are rabbits eating my vegetables! Then, they are chased away! After they've eaten something! :D Yes, Snowball will be missed.
DeleteSo sorry about your cat. I liked the pictures of Snowball in the trees. We had a cat growing up. It was teased and petted by all 11 kids. Never had any cat foods ...just scraps...as mom never had extra money for pet food, feeding 11 kids. I am sure that old cat ate birds and such. But he was loved and missed when he passed away...as I am sure your sweet cat is. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie. Lovely to hear from you, again. :) You grew up in a big family! The cats I used to have when growing up were fed scraps, too! We didn't have cat food, back then!
DeleteOh I'm sorry! Prayers for your sadness. Andrea
ReplyDeleteThank you, Andrea. That's very kind of you. :)
DeleteShe was a very handsome cat. I love the third and seventh pics. It's lovely that you have so many photos of her and I can understand why she'll be so missed. Was she tame enough to be held/stroked, or did you not encourage that sort of thing? Have you any idea how old she would have been?
ReplyDeleteYes, she was a very pretty cat. She wasn't tame enough for me to touch, but, she'd let me get close to her, as long as I didn't try to touch. She might have been about 7 or 8 years old. There is one older cat in the garden who is blind in one eye; I thought she might be the one to die first, but, she's still around (still won't let me touch her - allows me to get within a foot or so of her and then, she'll get up and walk away).
DeleteI'm so sorry - she brought much joy
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angela; yes, she did.
DeleteHow sad. I'm so sorry to hear that you have lost this precious garden cat. She was certainly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady.
ReplyDeleteOh no, poor Snowball. I was so sorry to read this.
ReplyDeleteI think I've mentioned that Snowball's appearance reminded me of my wonderful cat Lion. Lion's been gone for almost 11 years now but we still think and talk of her regularly.
He was lucky to find a person like you to welcome him into their garden so he could have a safe life.
Thank you, Debra. Sounds like Lion left her pawprints on your heart. They do stay with us in our memories, don't they?
DeleteSo sorry for your loss. She was such a pretty fluff of white, a nice addition to your garden, I am sure you will miss her.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susanne; I keep looking out the window expecting to see her!
