Well, it seems that I've reassured Blogger that I am not a robot, after all! Last night, it stopped asking me to prove that I wasn't a robot and hasn't asked me even once, today!
Yesterday, after I posted on the blog, I took a jar of marmalade, some muffins, and chocolates to friend R and she shared some frozen parathas that she had bought! It was a lovely afternoon, with the temperature hovering around 80F! Later, I watered the back yard.
Dinner, last night, was leftover baked chicken. I cooked a boxed rice/wild rice mix that I had in the pantry to go with it and some Brussels sprouts (along with the leftover broccoli):

Today, has been another warm and sunny day. Daughter woke up before I did and she opened all the windows to let in the fresh morning air and fed the garden cats for me. Then, she spent the rest of the day attending online meetings!
I spent a relaxed morning, responding to blog comments and reading and commenting on other blogs. I was delighted to see that I didn't have to prove that I wasn't a robot! LOL.
In the afternoon, I finished crocheting the border around the granny square blanket and started weaving in all the yarn ends and tidying it up. That is my least favorite task when knitting or crocheting.
I also spent some time in the garden, just checking on the plants, picking a couple of oranges, and taking a few photos of the front garden:

Mid afternoon is probably not the best time to photograph the front garden as the glare from the sun was a bit strong. The bed in the foreground, along the driveway, is looking a bit bare after I pulled out all the old osteospermum plants. Seedlings are growing, but, they are taking their own sweet time to fill in the empty spaces.
However, the succulents in the circle (beyond the eucalyptus tree) and along the side wall are doing well:

You have lots of very pretty flowers in your gardens. Oh those croissants remind me I should order some, we like to make our sandwiches on them occassionaly.

You don't need to go to a restaurant to sample someone else's cooking with the food exchanges you do in your neighborhood. It's really nice the way you all share with each other.
ReplyDelete"Sharing is caring" as the saying goes. :) We might not be able to call and say, "Come over to dinner", but, we can still take a bowl of soup or a plate of sandwiches over and still show that we care.
DeleteGood neighbours and friends are indeed an absolute treasure. The succulents look wonderful. Bulbs are just about coming through now so hopefully we will have a nice display for Spring. Apart from the hardly little snowdrops there's not much to look at for the moment. Its all a bit dull.

ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see flowers at this time of the year, isn't it? I think I had more flowers, this time last year, but, then, again, we had nearly 3 times as much rain!

ReplyDeleteIt's warmed up slightly here with a high of 14°C here but I think you are doing better than us. I'm just relieved that the winds have stopped!
Your garden is looking good. The lantana is very colourful and I love the osteospermum anyway.

Lovely to see your flowers (it has been snowing all day today). I like the fact that you included the sandwich that your daughter had a bite from. I think this could be a useful trend for the professional food photographers. After all, how do we know that the fabulous cake in a magazine is real unless you also show a slice with a chunk missing?
ReplyDeleteWent for groceries yesterday morning. I could have waited, since it was snowing, but the forecast was also for snow today and as it turned out, it wasn't at all busy in the stores. I guess some people were putting off their trip downtown!

Your yard looks delightful. Cant imagine what 80* would feel like right now. We still have a few months before we see those temperatures. You have so many nice friends, neighbours and family. You are blessed. Jean
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jean. I am still planning to landscape the front a little bit, now that the grass is all but dead! Just haven't got around to it! I do have some wonderful neighbors and friends; I just hope that they consider me to be a good neighbor and friend, too. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. I am always conscious of the fact that the front garden has no grass/lawn anymore and I haven't landscaped it, as such, but, I am happy with the plants that are growing there. Yes, I do have some of the best friends and neighbors, don't I?
DeleteEighty degrees in February? Wow! That's a little too warm for me just yet. Although opening the windows and letting some fresh air in sounds good. But that won't happen around here for awhile yet. Those cheese steak sandwiches look so good. You have wonderful neighbors.

DeleteYes, some of the succulents growing in the circle were given to me by a former supervisor! The aloe plants and some of the others were given to me by M. A couple of others by one of my neighbors. :)
