30. Annual year end almsgiving (done a little differently, this year, since donations will be sent to the Temple in lieu of holding it at home)
31. Celebrate New Year's Eve

I am listing 31 joys for the month.  Not sure if I'll do them all, but, I am looking for a joyful December!

How about you?  Will you be joining me in engaging in joyful activities this month?

  1. I have lots of joyful activities planned for December. Christmas will inevitably be different this year but there is still plenty to look forward to and to enjoy.

Is your daughter travelling back home with her friend? I hope your plans work out and you get to spend time with each other.

    1. Yes, my daughter is hoping to be able to come down with her friend, provided travel restrictions in the county her friend lives in are eased up! If she is able to come down, that would be lovely. If she isn't able to visit, well, as the song says, "we'll have to muddle through, somehow" (the words of the song Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, as sung by Judy Garland in the movie "Meet me in St. Louis"; the lyrics were changed afterwards, as they were deemed too gloomy!)

  2. On a small scale, I try to find something to smile about every day. It may be sunrise, a good cookie, or a comedy on TV. However, I do want to sit down soon and think about what special things I want to do that only happen this time of year like driving around to look at lights. This is already turning out to be a big year for people decorating their houses.

    1. Driving around to see the lights is something I considered putting on my list, and then, I reminded myself that I don't like to drive at night, anymore! I hope your list includes making a snowman! :)

  4. What a lovely list! I'm trying to be cheerful but I always find this time of year a struggle when I'm so far from Mum. All the songs about being home for Christmas and that. Sigh. I am going to focus on the positive.

    1. (((HUGS))) Sharon. It's not easy, is it? Yes, focus on the positive - what you do have and what you can do. :)

  6. It will seem strange not to read about all your preparations for the Almsgiving, but we can hope that you will be able to host it next year.
My joyful activities today were feeding squirrels and blue jays (as usual), going into the church for a while, and making a Christmas swag for the front door.

    1. Yes, it feels strange not to be getting the house ready, etc., but, I must admit that it is a lot less work, this way!

Sounds like your day was full of joy. I made a batch of jam to give as gifts; it took a lot longer than I thought it would, but, I listened to Christmas music while I made the jam. :)
