Wednesday

White Agapanthus (Lily of the Nile)
The agapanthus (Lily of the Nile) is flowering.  I no longer have the blue flowered ones that I planted in the front garden, but, the white ones I planted in the back are doing well.

Today, I struggled to be productive.  For one thing, I couldn't fall asleep until 5:00 a.m.  Then, I woke up around 6:45 a.m. - too early and not enough sleep.  I went back to sleep and slept till 9:00 a.m. - too tired to get up.  Then, I slept, again, and woke up at 10:30 a.m., after a very complicated dream which I can't quite recall, now.

After I had a cup of tea and replied to comments, I called the podiatrist's office and rescheduled tomorrow's appointment.  We put it off until the end of July.  We shall see how things stand by then.

I had cheese and crackers for breakfast, today.  I wanted waffles, but, didn't feel like taking the time to make them!

After breakfast (eaten around 11:30 a.m.), I drove over to friend R's to give her a jar of peach jam.  I had the jar of jam in the trunk; she took it from the tru and I stayed in the car and chatted with her through the car window for a few minutes.

After I came home, I had tuna salad on crackers for lunch.

Then, I took a jar of peach jam over to neighbor S, left it on her doorstep, and called her to let her know.  After that, I called cousin P and asked her if she could come outside and took her a jar of jam, too.  I placed it on top of her garden wall and she took it from there; then, we spoke for a few minutes at a safe distance (I had my cloth mask on).  After I came home, I played on the computer and watched news because I was procrastinating doing the housework!

Finally, at 7:15 p.m., I started on the housework.  I watered the back garden, vacuumed the house, dusted my bedroom and the family room, and did the dishes.  I did not declutter or organize, though!

Dinner was rice and the last of the sausage stir fry.  I took out two pieces of rotisserie chicken to thaw to have for dinner, tomorrow. Not sure if I will eat it as it is or make it into something else!

Today, I am grateful for:
- Being able to gift some of my jars of jam to friends, neighbors, and family
- The car started without any problems
- I had a safe drive to friend R's and back
- Working appliances
- What I was able to accomplish

Today's joyful activity was visiting cousin and friend, however briefly, to give them jam.

Wednesday's To Do List:
- Vacuum - DONE
- Dust family room and my bedroom - DONE
- Drop off something for friend R, neighbor S, and cousin P - DONE
- Paperwork/filing - STARTED
- Do one decluttering/organizing task
- Water the back garden - DONE

Thursday's To Do List:
- Paperwork/filing
- Clean the kitchen
- Water the garden, front
- Load of laundry, if needed

How was your Wednesday?  What are your plans for Thursday?

  1. White agapanthus is on my list of possibles for the garden. They're beautiful aren't they?

I'm surprised you managed to do anything after so little sleep. It takes a while to catch up and stop feeling out of sorts of you're anything like me.

I've already postponed my doctor's appointment twice so am going to go to the next appointment. I need to have bloods done and BP monitored so won't put it off any longer. At the moment in person appointments are at a minimum so it means going straight in to the doctor, without having to wait in a crowded waiting room. Masks have to be worn and social distancing is maintained as much as possible. It won't ideal but necessary and the best they can do in the current situation.

    1. Agapanthus will look lovely in your garden.

I am usually able to function well if I get about 6 hours of sleep. But, I found it really hard to get going, yesterday. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, either, so, lets see how I do, today! My sleep schedule is all out of whack!

I hope your doctor's appointment goes well. I've been postponing mine (my primary care doctor's office isn't even open), especially if they are the routine check ups. I do need to call the oncologist's office, next week, to see about coming in for the injection I receive every 6 months for my bone density; I'll need to do blood work for that. I'm due for a mammogram, too, but, who knows when that might happen!

  2. Oh my gosh! I am always amazed with how productive you are. My day's productivity was also vacuuming (after procrastinating for days...not hours) and mailing out two little greeting cards. You drove around the city hand delivering jars of jam that took you hours to make, AND watered the garden, AND dusted, AND did the dishes. Are you trying to make me look bad?

The Lily of the Nile is beautiful. I looked it up and found it doesn't grow in zones below 6. I'm a zone 4 (I think), so my flower that most closely resembles yours is the allium, which is a Spring bulb. I noticed yesterday that I have a white one coming out. It is a very late bloomer, so I am guessing I planted the bulb too deeply.

    1. Thank you, Susan. I am forever procrastinating on vacuuming, so, it was important to me that I did it, yesterday, which is when I've scheduled to do it on my weekly cleaning schedule! :)

I wonder if you can grow agapanthus if you planted it in a pot and took it in over the winter? I am pretty sure it would do well on your deck until it starts snowing. Alliums are pretty, too; I'm glad your are starting to bloom. :)

  3. I didn't sleep well last night and feel awful today. I don't know how you do so well with the little amount of sleep you get sometimes.

    1. I'm sorry, Live and Learn; hopefully, you'll get a good night's rest, tonight. I tell people that I'd be dangerous if I get 8 hours of sleep! LOL. You'd have thought I'd be tired and ready for an early night, last night, but, I was still up and wide awake at 4:00 a.m.!

  4. You sure got a lot done on such little sleep. I can't stand when that happens and rarely have a productive day.
Plus I eat a lot when I don't sleep. Do you find yourself
    hungrier?

    1. I haven't really noticed if I feel hungrier, but, that might be because I am constantly snacking! Then, again, I rarely sleep a full 8 hours, so maybe I am constantly snacking because I am always sleep deprived! I had 5 1/2 hrs. of sleep last night and I had a cup of tea when I woke up at 9:30 a.m. I got hungry at 2:00 p.m., which is when I had my brunch. I am making myself a cup of tea, right now (5:30 p.m.) and will probably have dinner around 8:00-8:30 p.m. But, then, I get hungry again, around midnight and I start snacking! I really ought to try to go to bed, earlier (but, even then, I don't always fall asleep, right away).

  5. Sorry to hear you had a bad night. At least you redeemed the day and got things done.
I went for the mail on Wednesday and on my return, I saw a fox crossing the road some distance away and it stopped in the middle for long enough to take a photo - if only I had had my camera with me!

    1. Oh, I remember seeing a fox, once, when I had gone out for an early morning walk (way back in the days when I used to wake up super early), when I was at university! More recently, again back when I used to be up and about very early in the mornings, I have seen coyotes, although they are not as pretty as foxes. You just have to take your camera with you when you go to collect the mail, from now on! :)
