Sunny Tuesday

Azalea and Cherry Blossoms

Yesterday, I dusted the living room, dining area, and most of the family room, changed the bed sheets, and did three loads of laundry as there were some clothes and a blanket to be washed as well as the bed sheets and towels.  Later, I cleaned the fridge and took the trash cans out to the curb.  In the evening, I practiced the piano (I don't think Dancer liked it, at all, because he meowed the whole time!), watched news, undid a crochet project I had started a long time ago (I was going to make a rectangular rag rug) that was not coming along and re-started it (going to make a round rug, instead).  I also called friend R to see how she was doing after our extra long walk, on Sunday; she said she was fine.

Today, I was woken up early (7:30 a.m. is early when you go to sleep after 3:00 a.m.) by a text about next month's prayer gathering.  I answered the text and went back to sleep!  It was mid-morning when I woke up, next.  It's a lovely, sunny, and warm day, today.  I've already brought in the empty trash cans from the curb and gone through the mail.  There's a new magazine waiting to be read, so, that will be today's joyful activity to look forward to.

One library has their regular knitting group, this evening, and the other library is hosting a free coloring for adults event, should I choose to attend.

Today, I am grateful for:
- A sunny, warm day
- Spring flowers
- A new magazine to read
- Events at the libraries, if I choose to attend
- Fresh oranges

Today's joyful activity will be reading my new magazine.

  1. Wow - what a beautiful photo. I love photos of your garden - they keep me going until Spring blossoms here (maybe sometime lol). How lucky to have two libraries with programs on in the evening!

    1. Thank you, Sharon, but, the photo was taken at the Japanese garden I visited on Sunday. I'll post some pictures of my own garden flowers, next time. :)

Yes, I'm lucky that the libraries in my neighborhood offer various programs and opportunities to interact with others. I didn't go to either event, today, however, as I wanted to watch the televised debate. But, I'll see what next month's programs at the library offer - there will be more movies and such.

  2. One of my cats used to get in my face and meow every time I sang. I said she liked it and the rest of the family said that she didn't. It would be interesting if Dancer and Samantha could get together to discuss their human's music "noise".

    1. Maybe Samantha was singing a duet with you! Dancer, however, is probably saying, my piano playing is hurting his ears! LOL.

  3. Tuesday began painfully at the dentist but ended happily with our Pancake Party. Around 40 people came and enjoyed dozens of delicious Pancakes and good conversations

    1. I'm sorry you had a toothache, Angela; I hope it is getting better. I'm glad to hear that your Pancake Party was well attended. I like that tradition of pancakes before the start of Lent. :)

  4. I love the photo of the blossom ... is that for the 'colour' prompt for the WPSH?

How lovely to have two choices of library events. I'd definitely go to the adult colouring one. Did you go to one in the end?

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I hadn't considered that photo for color, as I had already submitted a photo of a sunset, but the flowers are colorful, too, aren't they?

I would like to try the adult coloring one, too, one day, but, yesterday, I stayed home to watch the candidates debate on TV.

  5. Ah, Spring flowers seem to be the prettiest and most prolific. I don't know if that is really the case or how I perceive them to be; but the world comes alive with their arrival.

I still say Dancer is singing along with you. If he didn't like it, he would leave.(Or that is what you can tell him the next time.)

    1. I think you are right, Susan; spring flowers are the most prolific. The plants seem to really put on a lovely show. It is our best season, I think, because our summers are so hot!

Ha, ha, the next time he meows when I am playing, that is exactly what I am going to tell him! :D

  6. A long time ago, one of my cousins had a dog that constantly whined while she played the piano.

I didn't know cats did the same! :)

    1. Dancer is the first cat I've had that has done this, and it seems to be only when I play the piano. When my daughter comes home, this weekend, I must ask her to play the piano to see if he'll meow - he hasn't done so on previous occasions when she's played.

  7. When I left home I had a bedsit in an apartment whose owner, a nurse in London, only came back infrequently, for weekends, and she asked if I would take over feeding her cat which lived in the apartment. Of course I was delighted, but I'm not sure the cat was happy when I sat on the loveseat in my room and played the guitar and sang. He meowed, of course. I think, though, that he might have been wanting attention. One way the poor cat got it was when he had one of his fits! (I hadn't been warned about that). I had to soothe him as he came out of it. Also one day I came home from work and he had a broken tooth, so without a cat carrier I carried him up the road and across the next road to the vets. Landlady reimbursed me later.

    1. Oh, my goodness, I would have been so scared if I had to deal with a cat that had fits! I'm glad your landlady reimbursed you for taking the cat to the vet. Yes, I suppose Dancer, too, is wanting attention (or, more likely, some tuna!)

  8. What a lovely photo of the spring blossoming bushes and tree.
I love spring and Mother Nature's rebirth.
I spend a lot of my time walking around my yard looking down. Trying to spot new things pushing out of the ground.

    1. Thank you, Debra. Spring flowers are so pretty, aren't they? Do you have a lot of snow where you are? I hope you find lots of new things coming up as the days warm up and spring arrives. :)

    2. Hardly any snow this year. It's been a very strange winter.

    3. It's been a relatively warm winter, here, too. I'm not complaining, of course, as I like it warm, but, I wonder if there might be due to climate change.

  9. As I sit here with the wind roaring around the house once again, it gladdens my heart to see the photograph of the cherry blossom. Hopefully it wont be too much longer before I start to see some on the trees here. X
