Monday

Dancer is Missing Daughter

Today, I was determined to get back to my regular cleaning routine.  I did a load of laundry, dusted the living room, dining area, and family room, took down the holiday greeting cards, cut up some of them to make gift tags for next year, cleaned the fridge, took the kitchen trash out, and took the big trash bin and the yard waste bin to the curb for pick up on Tuesday morning.

When I went into my daughter's room to put away some of her laundry, I found a certain kitty cat on her bed.  He wasn't sleeping, his eyes were open, but, he didn't move, not even when I came back to the room to take a picture!  Just look at that face!  Someone is missing his favorite person.

I also sat down at the piano with one of my daughter's first piano books (my piano book hasn't arrived yet) and played a few of the pieces.  I definitely need to brush up on my sight reading, especially when it comes to the notes that are above or below the ledger lines (other than Middle C!).  LOL!  But, I know that I will eventually be able to know my notes, again.  Then, I played a couple of the songs I play by ear, just for the pleasure of it!

Later in the evening, I video chatted with my daughter.  She said she had a restful day before going back to work, tomorrow.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Caring, concerned friends
- Working appliances
- What I was able to accomplish today
- Video chatting with my daughter
- Access to online videos and music

Today's joyful activities included playing the piano.

  1. Are you feeling excited about the piano lessons? Do you have a piece in mind that you'd like to be able to play eventually?

    1. I think I am more nervous about it than excited, right now! LOL! Which is why I am brushing up on my skills before my first lesson (scheduled for Thursday afternoon, provided the book arrives by then; if not, then, next Thursday). I'd like to be able to play Moonlight Sonata (the more familiar 1st movement, that is) and a better version of Whispering Hope and Danny Boy than what I play now! :)

  2. Oh the poor kitty...

He is the perfect picture, of missing a loved one.

Poor, sweet Baby. I do hope he perked up, later... Maybe with a special treat? -smile-

  5. What a wistful expression on Dancer's face! I think he needed to take a leaf out of your book and do some chores for distraction. A bit of dusting might have smartened him up!
The sun came out today. We went to another town for some errands and I found a beautiful coat in a charity shop and there was 30% off for seniors' day!

    1. He was staring into space like that for several minutes, Bushlady, as if he was in deep thought. They say that cats are aloof and not as affectionate as dogs, but, I think they do bond with their humans and miss them when they are not there.

What a lucky find on the coat! Enjoy the sunny days when you can!

    1. Oops! No, he's very much here, thank goodness! I've had cats go missing for a couple of days, before, and that is a very worrying feeling!
