Still Under the Weather on Wednesday

I haven't felt too well, today.  Still having a cold and cough.  I stayed in bed until nearly 11:00 a.m., then, got up and had tea.

There was a group text giving the date of the December Rosary gathering - the person hosting it wants us to be in ugly Christmas sweaters, again, and it will be a potluck dinner.  However, it is on the evening of the 20th and that's when my daughter flies in for the holidays.  So, I texted back saying I will not be able to attend it.  One of the other participants called to ask if I was going (she needed a ride), but, I told her I won't be going.

Both cousins V and P called to ask me for updates on friend T, but I didn't call T's sister as she was flying back to Colorado, today, and I didn't have any updates.  I hope T is continuing to recover, but, I won't go to see her until I get over my cold and cough.

I had one of the frozen scallion pancakes for brunch, with some beef curry.  I drank a glass of orange juice with it for the vitamin C.

Then, I read for a bit and took a nap on the sofa, all afternoon!

After I woke up, I had a cup of tea and ate some tangerines.  That might be dinner.  There is plenty of food in the fridge, but, I don't have much of an appetite.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Being able to relax and take it easy
- Afternoon naps
- Orange juice and fresh fruits
- A sunny day
- A working heater

How was your Wednesday?  What are your plans for Thursday?

  1. oh no, this is the season for having inconvenient coughs, colds, and general 'yuckiness,' so I hope yours soon vanishes- I am sure you got very tired with last week's worries and busyness, and that probably made you a target for whatever nasty germs were around- hope a few days of rest and care will have you feeling better- wish I was close to you, so I could bring you chicken soup and ginger ale which is usually my 'rx for feeling blah,' but I'm far away so know you are in my thoughts and prayers-
scallion pancakes sounds so tasty ... I may soon be looking for a recipe and giving them a try-
do take care- you are a very special person to so many-
    fondest regards-
    Barb

    1. Thank you, Barb. I guess my immune system is not as resilient as it used to be and I probably did get too tired, last week. I am feeling a lot better, today, however, although still coughing. I do have chicken broth in the freezer, but, don't feel like having soup!

I cheated and bought frozen scallion pancakes from the Asian grocery store. But, I've seen recipes online for making them from scratch.

Aw, thank you! That is very kind of you to say so. :) Hope all is well with you and yours. Please know that there are others who read my blog who are also keeping your girls in their prayers.

  3. Sorry to hear that you're feeling poorly Bless, and I hope you're over it soon. I always think it's difficult being ill when you live alone so make sure to take plenty of rest and pamper yourself a little.

  6. I'm glad to hear that you are resting. It certainly sounds like you need it. I hope this will do the trick and that you will soon be in good shape. It is a pity that you will miss the December Rosary gathering but you have more important things to do, welcoming your daughter home that day. I'm sure you are looking forward to her arrival quite soon now. This month is flying past.
I was shopping today and met someone I haven't encountered for a couple of decades I should think, even though we live in the same area and shop in the same town. Then I met two brothers that had moved a long way away but were back in town and we had a chat as well!

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I spent the day resting, today, too. It's only a cold and cough but I feel wiped out! Yes, I'm sorry to miss the December Rosary gathering, but, I can't go to it and come back in time to pick up my daughter from the airport.

How nice that you met some old friends while out shopping! I was looking over my holiday gift list, this afternoon, and I still have a couple of items to pick up - hopefully, next week.

  9. I’m sorry you are not feeling well. I guess it’s this weather.

Yesterday I had lunch with several of my colleagues. We do it once a semester, and to celebrate birthdays. 😊

    1. I guess I was run down and got exposed to cold germs while out and about before the almsgiving. At least I got sick afterwards and not before!

That lunch with your colleagues sounds like a fun get together. :)
