Still Summer on Tuesday

It might be fall, officially, but, we are still having summer, with temperatures in the 90s, today.  I slept in, in the morning, and spent the rest of the morning on the computer.  Brunch was leftover spaghetti from yesterday.

In the afternoon, I cut out the pieces for one of the baby quilts and started sewing it.  A very simple pattern of squares and strips.  I have the top all sewn, except for the borders.  I'll sew the borders tomorrow and take some pictures.

I put water to the garden, later in the evening and brought the trash cans in.  I had a sandwich with my cup of tea, in the evening.

Still later, I watched some TV and knitted.  I was going to make a neck warmer with some of the leftover wool, but, I don't have enough of the wool for it.  So, I am going to have to make something else with it or buy more wool (except, it was something that was in the clearance bin and there was only one skein of it, at the time)

Dinner was a slice of leftover pizza, with grapes for dessert.

In addition to sewing and knitting, I read a bit.  Later, I video chatted with my daughter.

Today, I am grateful for:
- It is still nice and warm
- My sewing machine
- Water for the garden
- Time to sew, knit, and read
- Leftovers!

Plans for tomorrow include continuing to sew the quilt.

How was your Tuesday?  Is it getting cooler where you live?  Or, are you still having summer?

    1. I am treasuring these last few hot days, Andrea, because, once it starts cooling down, I feel cold all the time!

  2. Is there a baby in mind that you're sewing the quilt for or are you just using the recent fabric you picked up so you'll be ready the next time you need a gift?

    1. There is a baby in mind, Live and Learn. Two of them, in fact! :D A boy and a girl. That's why I bought the fabric. I need the first quilt by October 13 and the other by October 19!

  3. I can't imagine how it would feel in the 90s - it's around 64F here!

Could you get contrasting yarn and make some sort of design feature? Hugs x

    1. 64F is winter! Yes, that's what I am planning to do - get some contrasting yarn and see what I can make. :)

  4. I hope you take some photos of the project! It's been pretty warm here in Michigan, though today is a little cooler. I like the cooler days - I need the air conditioning off lol.

  6. It’s still summer here, but it is not unbearably hot like it was. All summer long, it was in the 90’s and 100’s, now it’s in the 80’s.
