It was drizzling when I woke up, this morning! I don't think we received a lot of rain, but it was enough to wet the roads and snarl up traffic! It was enough, too, for me to not worry about watering the back garden, today.
I had a relatively good day, considering the fact that I didn't fall asleep until after 3:00 a.m. (the last time I checked the clock) and had to wake up at 7:00 a.m.! I went to the office and had a productive day.
Breakfast was a yogurt with some cereal that I added to it for crunch:
That is the last of the 8 containers of flavored yogurt I bought a couple of weeks ago (May grocery shopping week 2). I do have a container of plain yogurt in the fridge.
Lunch was a salad with chicken and grapes:
The jar has salad dressing; I used about half of it.
In addition to breakfast and lunch, I also took snacks:

I had planned to do a few things after I came home, but I ran out of steam!. So, I took out the recycling, but not the kitchen trash; put away the laundry from yesterday, but didn't do another load; and I cooked dinner, but didn't wash the dishes!
For dinner, I cooked the packet of Spanish rice mix I had bought and a stir-fry with the last of the chicken breast I cooked yesterday; I added zucchini, carrots, bell pepper, onion, and corn (cut off the other half of the ear of corn I had, yesterday) to the chicken:
I will take leftovers for my lunch, tomorrow. That will be the end of the chicken I cooked, yesterday, but there will be more rice leftover, even after I take some for lunch. I will be cooking something else to go with that rice, tomorrow. It is not meal planning, exactly, but it works for me.
After dinner, I called the friend I visited on Monday to give her the information about the upcoming funeral for the uncle who passed away, exchanged emails with a friend, and video chatted with daughter.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Rain to water the garden
- A safe drive to the office on rain slick roads
- A productive day at the office
- Exchanging emails and phone calls with friends
- Video chatting with daughter
Wednesday's To Do List:
- Go to the office - DONE
- Water the back garden - Didn't need to - it rained!
- Water the indoor plants - Not done (forgot!)
- Put away the dried laundry - DONE
- Do another load of laundry - Not done
- Make a couple of phone calls - DONE
Thursday's To Do List:
- Go to the office
- Stop by the farmers' market (maybe)
- Water the indoor plants
- Do the dishes
- Do another load of laundry
How was your Wednesday? Did you have a good day? Do you manage to get things done after you come home from work? Or, do you, like me, tend to run short of energy by evening?

While I worked outside the home, it was enough just to make dinner and bring in the laundry, if I hung it out the evening before. The only real effort I made was to make sure my hanging planters were watered every night because they did not get the rain. Unless we were experiencing a drought, I rarely watered my barrel planters. I still carry on that habit of making dinner and vegging for the rest of the evening. If it doesn't get done before I stop to make dinner, it waits for the next day. (But sometimes I don't eat until 7 or 8 PM)
ReplyDeleteWell, there are days when I come home from work and don't do anything much, other than clean the litter box! But I always feel I should be doing more during the week, rather than keep till the weekend. Weekends are busy doing other things and I get grumpy when I have to spend the weekend doing housekeeping! LOL.
DeleteYou have very healthy meals. :).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nil. I try. I am well aware of the fact that my meals have shortcomings (not enough fresh vegetables, too much carbs and fats, etc.), but I do try to for a balanced diet.
DeleteWhen you retire you won't have to wake up at 7 after just falling to sleep at 3! It is raining here today and I am happy because I don't have to water my flowers. And, I backed my car out of our garage to get a rain-wash! Andrea
ReplyDeleteAndrea, that's just what I was telling myself, this morning! When I am retired, I can sleep in! :)
DeleteGlad to hear you don't need to water the flowers because you are getting rain! And a free car wash, too! :)
