I think the hardest goal you have is not being overprotective with your daughter. Stepping back from trying to protect our children from everything is one of the hardest jobs we do as parents. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Live and Learn. She went to volunteer at the fund raiser event on Sunday, with one of her co-workers; I asked her to let me know when she was leaving and she teased me about being an overprotective mother! But, she texted me to tell me she was leaving and called me after she came back. I was telling I like to know where she is, supposing there is an emergency; she said she can text, etc. There is actually very little I can do if there is an emergency, of course, but that's besides the point! LOL. Anyway, I am going to try to step back a little. I must not project my own bad experiences when I was younger onto her.
DeleteThere is going to be more of a shift towards career and finances this coming month for you. Hopefully working in the garden and more "me time" will offset some of the new focus. I have not done my goals for April yet, but I know that mine will also have a stronger focus in one area over another.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Susan. Career/retirement and finances are going to take center stage, I think. Looking forward to seeing what your April goals are.
DeleteWonderful goals as usual!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLove reading your goals! I totally understand the daughter one. I try not to interfere in her business but offer advice when asked. I support her the best I can. I can totally understand the overprotective one. She lives so far from me but this winter she said she was going somewhere and I knew it was snowing like crazy where she was so I just texted her and told her if she could let me know when she got back. I did tell her that I'm her Mum and I'm allowed to worry and she took it all in good jest.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sharon. I know you understand about being overprotective. Especially these days, with all the random violence that takes place. There were shots fired at the shopping mall she goes to, sometime back - I didn't worry about it at the time because I knew she wasn't shopping there when the shooting occurred; but if I hadn't known that, I would have worried until I heard from her.
DeleteGreat Goals.Your mention of Time Management is something I am working on too. I waste far too much time thinking about what I am going to do!
ReplyDeleteI think all mothers worry a lot about their children, the trick is not to let them see you are doing it, but at the same time letting them know you are there!
Thank you, Sharon. Yes, Time Management. I can easily spend the day reading blogs, watching some program or another on TV, and not getting anything else done! As for thinking about what we are going to do - I think we should call it planning, don't you? We are planning our activities/coming up with a plan of action! Yes, I like the sound of that, much better! :D Sometimes, getting started is the hardest part, for me.
