Friday evening prior to and the morning of the same day as the monthly
prayer gathering!) - Participated in the Saturday morning's ceremony, although I didn't stay for the entire event.
Environment: The goal is a clean, tidy, uncluttered house and a well-maintained garden.
House:
-
Clean the house for the prayer gathering - Got the main rooms of the house tidied and cleaned. Started on my bedroom; will continue in November, too.
Garden:- Attend to the eucalyptus tree - get an arborist's opinion; trim or cut down the tree- not done!
- Plant some new plants in the front garden for a little fall color - not done, as it was too hot during most of October.

- Communicate regularly - phone calls, texts, and emails; I will see several of them at the prayer gathering - Spoke with various family members and friends on the phone, cousins and a good friend helped with the prayer gathering preparations and clean up, visited my neighbor and had coffee with her one evening, had aunt and cousin over to dinner last weekend, exchanged emails with several friends, etc.
Career: The goal is to continue to do work which I enjoy (for the most part) and which enables me to support myself.

- Attend the appointments with my various medical doctors and dentists - 2 scheduled, so far, in October: the dentist (for the crown replacement) and primary care physician assistant (routine follow-up); there might be a third appointment, as well, depending on how the dental work proceeds - Did so; there was an appointment with the surgeon, as well.

So those were my goals for October. I didn't achieve all my goals but I made good progress on most of them and I am content. Did you make any monthly goals for October? If so, how did you do? Are you happy with what you were able to achieve?
"...and I am content." That says it all. You are doing great with your goals.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Live & Learn. Yes, I am content. Of course, I would liked to have achieved more, to have made more progress, etc. But, considering where I've been, I'm happy to be where I am now. :)
DeleteI think it is important to have goals because they add structure and focus to our lives, but that is a lot of goals! I find that too big a list of things to do can be overwhelming and lead to feelings of failure if not accomplished. Don't be hard on yourself if you don't make much progress in some areas. We all need time out to recharge the batteries and I'm glad to see that you include leisure/craft/me time but don't let it always be at the end of the list. X
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder to take time for myself and to relax, Eloise. The goals list isn't in any particular order, but they are of equal importance.
DeleteHi Bless, you have done well my friend. One of my goals for this past month was to be able to move on and away from toxic relationships that I knew were horrible for me and my family, but I still had guilt about cutting them out of my life because they were family. I think I have finally been able to let go of the guilt now and it feels good. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. (((HUGS))) It is very difficult to cut ties to a toxic relationship. But one has to move on; it's necessary for self-preservation. We owe it to ourselves and to our children and grandchildren to take care of ourselves in order to be there for them when they need us.
