Time to review my Spring Joy List, which was for the period between March 21 to June 20:
1.
Daily prayer and contemplation: take time to appreciate this time of renewal - Have been saying my prayers daily.
2.
Continue to drink my tea in my favorite cups - I've gone back to drinking coffee, but I have a favorite cup for coffee, as well.
3.
Continue to chat daily with my daughter - We've been doing this every day.
4.
My daughter's next visit home (in April or May) - She visited over the Mother's Day weekend, which was lovely and is visiting again, this weekend!
5.
Savor my last jar of homemade apple and pomegranate jam! - The jam is just a memory, now!
|
Flowers from the Garden |
6.
Visit the temple - Visited the temple and made donations
7.
Do a craft project: make a birthday card for my sister - I made a thank you card for my supervisor, instead
8.
Do more gardening: plant a vegetable garden, scatter some flower seeds - the flower seeds didn't do anything, but the vegetable garden was planted and at least one zucchini has been harvested!
9.
Celebrate Sri Lankan New Year (April 13) - Celebrated it in spirit.
10.
Bring in more fresh flowers and greenery - Did that several times
|
Zucchini Growing in the Garden |
11.
Play with fabric - Not to the extent I would have liked.
12.
Visit the farmers' market - Visited it regularly
13.
Visit the library - Visited the library several times; even borrowed some books to read!
14.
Read a book or two (or more) - Read a few
15.
Do more sketching - Doodled a bit, but that wasn't really sketching, as such.
|
One of the Books from the Library |
16.
Naps on the sofa! - Oh, yes! Several!
17.
Take in the sunsets - Almost every evening.
18.
Music - listening and singing - Quite often.
19.
Arrange to video chat with a friend - Video chatted with my friend
20.
Indulge in strawberries! - Did so several times, included the one strawberry my one plant bore before it died!

Did you do a Spring Joy List? If so, were you able to do some of the joy-inspiring things you wanted to do?
A wonderful list Bless and it's so good to see you have crossed them all off. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. I would have liked to have done more on some of them, but I did manage to touch on all of them and that is good. :)
DeleteWow sounds like you got quite a lot accomplished on your Spring List. Hope you enjoy your visit with daughter. Is she here for long?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sharon. I did manage to touch on all the joy-inspiring things I listed, didn't I? There were one or two things I would have liked to have done more (playing with fabric, for example), but something is better than nothing, right?
DeleteI didn't do an official Spring Joy list. I'll just live vicariously through yours.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Live and Learn. Hope you'll join me in the summer, too. :)
DeleteI have not done a joy list for a while instead concentrating on living intentionally daily. I will admit some days it worked and some days not so well. I think I am going to go back to my monthly joy list. It keeps me better focused.
ReplyDeleteYour monthly lists and Laura's seasonal lists at "All that junk in my trunk" were my inspiration to make my own joy lists.
DeleteIt's good to try something different, every so often. Sometimes, it works; other times, it doesn't. But you have the pleasure of knowing you gave it a try.
The idea of a Joy list is a great idea, but I haven't done one yet. I already live a very joyful life and I think I do my "want to do's" with no problems. I would be better off composing a goals list or a "should do" list. Ha.
ReplyDeleteThe Joy list is to remind me to take time to do some fun stuff, too, in addition to the "shoulds". Very often, when I review my monthly goals, I've noticed that the fun stuff gets pushed to the side. Maybe, eventually, I'll be able to incorporate the joy list into my daily to do lists. :)
