Wednesday: #4 of 7!

Today, I completed #4 of 7 radiation sessions!  Three more to go!

After radiation, daughter and I stopped at an Armenian bakery on the way home.  I bought a meat perashki for my lunch (it is a fried meat-filled bread roll; sorry, forgot to take a picture).  Daughter didn't want one.  We also bought two individual fruit tarts:

And two pieces of cake (vanilla-mocha-walnut and Kiev) because daughter couldn't decide between the two.  :)

After lunch, I took a long nap on the sofa.

In the evening, I put water to the back garden, did a load of laundry and hung it up to dry, and did the dishes.  I started on clearing the dining table (went through a stack of papers and mail), but didn't finish.  I also picked the first fruits from the pineapple guava (feijoa) tree and shared with daughter.  There aren't a lot of fruit on my trees this year, due to the drought.

Wednesday's To Do List:

- Go for radiation - DONE
- Clear dining table - STARTED

I had put a box lid on the floor and someone decided it makes a good bed:

  1. Pictures of cats in boxes always make me laugh outloud! So, so funny. You'd think the local Animal Control people would just go out and put as many cardboard boxes as they can in neighborhoods where there are a lot of feral cats! Mine also can't resist the appeal of a cardboard box on the floor. It's been an endless source of entertainment to watch our quite hefty Mean Cat try to squeeze herself in small boxes, lol. So thanks for sharing this picture of Dancer.

Pineapple guava, yay! It's nice that you were able to harvest some with the drought that you're having. Did it taste good?

That fruit tartlet looks just like the ones you find in French pastry shops and I want one right now. It's 8:43 a.m. and I'm trying to delay eating breakfast as long as possible because I'm going out to lunch at 1 p.m. with a friend and you have just made my day much, much harder, lol.

Have a great, restful day today!

    1. Oops! Sorry for making your day harder! Didn't mean to! LOL. Hope you have a lovely lunch with your friend.

The pineapple guava tasted fine to me, but daughter said it tasted bitter! They were smaller and not as juicy as normal.

Hope you have a good day, too, Nathalie.

  2. How long will you have to be on the medication you take after your radiation is over? Any significant side effects?

    1. Marylynn, if you mean the ointment for radiation burns, I am to use it for 14 days, total, according to the leaflet that came with the ointment. But I am planning to ask the staff at the clinic about it to verify.

  3. You are almost there! Woohoo! I was thrilled to read about your perashki for your lunch. There was a little bakery that just made those at lunch time and I would drive up there from my high school to get one. Oh they were so good! Thank you so much for that wonderful little trip down memory lane. :)
