Woke up at 7:00 a.m. to get ready to leave at 8:00 a.m. for my 9:00 a.m. hydration appointment. I was at the clinic in good time, however, they were running behind with two of the doctors out on vacation and the third doctor not coming in till 10:00 a.m. The nurse practitioner was seeing their patients as well as hers! As a result, I didn't get called in until nearly 10:30 a.m. and it was another 10 minutes or so until I was seen by the nurse practitioner. She said my blood test results were good and, as I was anxious about being late for my 11:30 a.m. radiation appointment, we decided that I could skip the hydration session. I will go back in three weeks for the next hydration session. I should be done with radiation by then and they can delay as much as they like and I won't mind.
The radiation session went well; it was number 18. 12 more to go! I'll start a countdown when I get to number 10, I think!
In the afternoon, I spent a little time doing office work! Yes, I know, I took a day of vacation, today, too, but I had some questions about one of my projects and had called and emailed a colleague for clarification. She had emailed me back, but I needed further clarification and emailed her again. Finally, we spoke on the phone and resolved the issue.
The late afternoon was very hot. Although I was seated in front of the stand fan, it was just blowing hot air on me. So, around 4:30 p.m., I went to the bedroom and turned on the a/c. And took a long nap!
Had phone conversations with one of my cousins, an aunt, and a friend in the evening, and, of course, video chatted with daughter.
And I decluttered 26 items for July 26:
26 Items for July 26 |
1 storage box
3 computer anti-virus software (expired)
2 printer ink cartridges (for one of the printers I am tossing)
1 finished "Autumn Leaf" needle point canvas
7 "Autumn Leaf" unfinished needle point kits
1 bag of crewel wool
2 stems of artificial flowers
1 pack of anime cards
1 cross stitch kit
1 bag of 6 jingle bells
1 binder
1 book
1 old planner
1 note book
1 squirrel shaped glass candle holder
= 26 items
The needle point kits were purchased years ago, from Goodwill, for $.39 each (price stickers still attached). I never got around to finishing them.
351 items decluttered to date.
I also watered the back garden.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Good blood test resuls
- Weight is down by another 2 lbs.
- a/c in the bedroom
- afternoon naps
- phone calls and video chats
I've no major plans for the weekend. Maybe do some grocery shopping, cleaning, tidying, catch up on the decluttering, laundry, etc.
How was your Friday? What have you planned for the weekend?
You're doing really well with the decluttering. My weekend will be much like yours although we managed to fit in a trip to the park this morning. X
ReplyDeleteJules, congratulations on your recent wedding and all best wishes to you. I'm glad to hear you managed a trip to the park this morning. Hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend.
DeleteHope you are feeling cooler today Bless. It's dull but dry over here so I'm managing to get the washing on the line which I'm always pleased about.
ReplyDeleteNo major plans at Number 38 this weekend. Spent today recovering from having Sienna. Goodness those night feeds totally wipe me out, but she's worth it. We're trying to book a cheeky 3 night stay with the caravan but struggling to find anywhere that can fit us in. Never mind, we're being greedy really but it seems a shame to have it in storage during the holidays. xx
Oh, I hope you manage to get away for another stay in the caravan! But I guess one has to book way in advance during the holidays. Still, there are last minute cancellations, etc.
DeleteI confess - if I had been you I would have counted the six pack of jingle bells as six items. I'm glad you got a nap, and that things are going well x
ReplyDeleteLOL, Lyssa, I was tempted to! But I figured counting each stem of the artifical flowers individually (instead of putting them into a bag and counting as 1 bag of flowers) was about as much as I dared to stretch things! :D
DeleteYou have much patience... waiting 90 minutes and worrying about not making your radiation appointment! I don't think I would have been very pleasant when it was my turn. I hate waiting, especially in a doctor's waiting room where there's usually a TV blaring and sick people (I mean with the contagious kind of diseases).
ReplyDeleteStop working on your vacation! I'm sorry that it's been so hot for you. Can you perhaps move a few things into your bedroom (the TV? your computer?) so you can take of the AC more often during the day?
I hope you have a nice relaxing and cooler Sunday.
Well, I usually don't mind long waits at doctor's offices. I go expecting to wait and I read my prayer book or something. But I was getting anxious, yesterday, because I had the radiation appointment as well. So, at 10:30 a.m., I asked at the front desk how much longer would I have to wait because I had another appointment, and shortly after that, they called me in; there was another short wait before I was actually seen by the nurse practitioner and it was she who told me that two of their doctors were out, etc.
DeleteI don't think I can take the TV to the bedroom, but I do take my computer (laptop) in there. Once I am in the bedroom, I have to deal with Dancer's dislike of closed doors - he'll sit outside the door and meow to be allowed in; then when I let him in, he'll sit by the door on the inside and meow to be let out! :D
Hope your weekend is going well.
