White Agapanthus in Bloom |
Woke up this morning to the sound of the cat throwing up. :p
Later, went for my blood test. The phlebotomist asked me how I was doing. I told her tomorrow will be my last chemo, although, most probably they'll want another blood test next week, before my hydration session, as a follow-up. After the blood test was done, she gave me a hug and said it has been a pleasure attending to me, that I was one of the nicest patients she's had. :)
After I came home, I had breakfast (toast with scrambled eggs and a slice of ham) and settled down to do some office work. But I felt very tired and took a nap in the afternoon.

June 9 Decluttering: 5 sweaters |
June 9 Decluttering: 5 books |
These will all be put aside for donation to a thrift store. This brings the total decluttered to 90 items.
Today, my neighbor brought over a tin of cookies for me! I will take them to the clinic, tomorrow, and give them to the nurses and staff there. I seem to have lost my taste for cookies and cakes and even chocolates (ate a piece of chocolate the other day and didn't like the taste, at all; how sad is that?)
There were phone calls from one of my half-brothers and an aunt. The family segment of my balanced life is well plumped.
Later in the evening, I picked up daughter from the airport. She will go with me to the clinic tomorrow for my last chemo session.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Being told I was a nice patient by the phlebotomist.
- Dancer seems fine after his morning incident.
- Afternoon naps.
- A phone call from my half-brother and an aunt.
- My neighbor bringing me a tin of cookies.
Spending log: today, I spent $2 for parking at the lab.
How was your Thursday?
Now BLess. I would totally agree.. not liking the taste of chocolate is sad... Hopefully the taste buds , will soon be better. and so happy your fixing to finish the last chemo treatment. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of the worker to say what a nice patient , you have been. That just tells us blogging friends, how nice you really are. smile.
Have a great day.
Thank you, Judy. It is very sad to have lost my taste for chocolate. :( Good for my waistline, though!
DeleteI do try to be nice to people. A smile brightens up everyone's day, I believe. But it was very nice of her to tell me that.
I'm off to have my last chemo!
Hope you have a lovely day.
Hope the tastebuds recover! I mean, chocolate is VITAL!!!! Please take care of yourself. xxx
ReplyDeleteI know, but I guess that's why I lost another 1 lb. since last week's weigh-in!
DeleteThinking of you today, Friday, as you go for the final chemo. I hope that you will have no side effects and that your body and appetite will soon be recovering now that this stage of the treatment is over. You've come a long way, and I'm sure the impressive decluttering is going to help you back to health as well!

Thank you, Bushlady. Another stage of the climb completed! The decluttering is therapeutic, too. It is as if I am shedding a skin! A new me is emerging! Watch out! :D
DeleteI'm starting to wonder if you should take your cat to the vet and find out how full his stomach is of hairballs. Maybe he needs some medicine so he can get rid of them all at once.
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't thrown up since then. So, I'll wait and see. He's just shedding like crazy. I need to start brushing him daily, although he doesn't like being brushed. I didn't want to do it before this because after a few strokes, he starts attacking the brush and my hand and I didn't want any scratches and or bites that might get infected while I was immune compromised.
DeleteYou being told that you have been the nicest patient? Yeah, NOT a surprise to read :)
ReplyDeleteHUGS, Bless. It seems you make everyone's day a little better :)
Aw,thank you, Nathalie! What a lovely thing to say! I try to be pleasant. I don't always talk to people in the waiting rooms, lines at grocery stores, etc., but I do always greet the receptionists and cashiers and ask them how they are, or make a comment about how busy the clinic or store is, etc. It's not their fault that the wait or line is long. They are just doing their job, and it's not always easy. Plus they have problems of their own.
DeleteThe phlebotomist told me that her birthday is coming up later this month. Maybe I'll make her a card and take on my next visit.
