More Road Trip Photos

I told my daughter to take lots of pictures to post on my blog!  She laughed at me, but obliged.  I selected a few more to publish.  Keep in mind that this is not the scenic route.  The scenic route is US Route 101, which hugs the coastline.  It is a longer route as the road winds along the coastline and takes longer to drive.  I have always chosen the alternate, U.S. Interstate 5, which takes one through mostly farmland.  Not much scenery, but the road is mostly straight and I can usually drive it in 6 hours or under.

The first part of the drive takes us through some mountains as we climb up to Tejon Pass at an elevation of 4,144 feet.  There are some mountains towards the end of the drive, as well, as we approach Berkeley.

The route takes us through the Central Valley, which produces much of the State's agriculture.  We pass miles and miles of vegetables, alfalfa, fruit orchards, etc.
