M said he bought a bell pepper plant for himself, and because a few leaves were eaten by an insect, he got that on discount, too! Both plants were reduced to $2, which is a great price for our area. I think, too, he got a discount because he's a regular client at this nursery. :)
I've read that one should remove the early flowers, but, I don't do that and M doesn't either! This plant also had two small tomatoes on it and we left them in place, too. I have two tiny tomato seedlings that I grew from seed, as well, but, they are about 3 inches high and will probably take a long time to grow. My apple seedling seems to be tolerating the heat, so, I'm very hopeful it will grow! Wouldn't it be grand if it gets some fruit, eventually?Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-7074678153821765762022-06-13T04:21:53.731-07:002022-06-13T04:21:53.731-07:00That's a pretty good looking tomato plant for ...That's a pretty good looking tomato plant for being deemed wonky and marked down. Glad to hear that your lemon trees are picking up after dropping some leaves, earlier. I currently have two small trees which I have grown from seed. There are no signs as to whether they will bear any fruit yet. There are also signs of new growth on my four lemon trees, which is reassuring, as they had all dropped some leaves after I moved them outdoors. Hopefully, you can find some on Freecycle. The seeds from the blue pumpkin that M gave me are growing in my compost pit! I'm really hoping the apple seedling will grow into a nice tree - I'll need two trees, apparently, for cross pollination, if they are to bear fruit and it can take 8 to 10 years for an apple tree grown from seed to bear fruit. I might have to buy an apple tree or two, if I hope to grow my own apples! I have a few flowers but no sign of any tomatoes yet... I've moved two pots out of the greenhouse and onto the patio - it was getting a bit overcrowded in there, and I want to see how being in or out affects the plant growth.Angelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13494078135251214182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-47061767279701268742022-06-11T00:04:09.360-07:002022-06-11T00:04:09.360-07:00Thank you, Eileen; hopefully the scan results will...Thank you, Eileen; hopefully the scan results will be in, next week.
Yes, M is very generous and I agree with you, the plant looked perfectly fine to me!
