A baby blanket made with some of the larger oddments will be quite lovely, I'm sure, depending on the colors used and pattern. Granny squares are one of my favorite things to make with small amounts of yarn. :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-31996995882295201542022-04-24T10:46:44.847-07:002022-04-24T10:46:44.847-07:00Oh ... yes I do have a yarn stash! And the oddmen...Oh ... yes I do have a yarn stash! And the oddments collection keeps growing. I have just used up three balls of yarn that have been hanging around for ages, on a scarf for the refugee collection. (I'm quite pleased with it, considering I'm no knitter!) Now I am wondering whether to make some sort of baby blanket using some of my larger oddments, or whether it would just look too messy. On the other hand, it is nice to have some oddments in various lengths, for smaller crochet projects - e.g. hats and scarves for the snowmen I made a while back...Lady Ellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17050899813793376037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-46510742367574809352022-04-23T20:06:17.737-07:002022-04-23T20:06:17.737-07:00If I lived closer, I'd come and take the extra...If I lived closer, I'd come and take the extra yarn off your hands, Sharon. And the good news is, I just received the rest of my yarn order, this afternoon, so I am very happy!

I really like how you dealt with your yarn stash! Selling some of it, donating some of it, and keeping just what you want for your immediate projects. :) Yes, a stash is an individual thing and it's always good to have enough on hand, especially if they were bought on sale, to make something when the mood strikes. My yarn bin is now full, again, and I will not buy more until I have finished the projects I'm planning to make. :) Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-85588427802258374202022-04-23T05:14:48.352-07:002022-04-23T05:14:48.352-07:00Fun! What a great package of goodies. And, like ...Fun! What a great package of goodies. And, like you said, you have plans for your new yarn so it won't languish for years (like mine does - well, like mine did - because I donated most of it to the Senior Center :)
Good for working through your existing stash!
I look forward to seeing the new things you make.

Yes I do have a yarn stash but it is so much smaller than it used to be. I used to have a book case filled with plastic tubs filled with yarn. Personally I feel a yarn stash is an individual thing. If you are happy with the amount of yarn/crafting supplies you have then that is great. It's each person's call. I was not happy with what I had.
It bothered me. I did not want to own yarn just to store it in plastic bins. (Or "clutter coffins" - a term I heard on a podcast the other day lol) So I sold quite a bit on Ravelry and I donated a lot to the Senior Center.
Now I have one medium sized tub of the acrylics I use for my baby blanket donations and a small plastic tub of some nicer natural fiber yarns.
That amount pleases me and that amount works with how I knit/crochet and the things I make.

I need some yellow too! lol

56stepshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06714155300369089630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-4353669530878945582022-04-22T18:05:08.183-07:002022-04-22T18:05:08.183-07:00Hi, Chris,

If it was a different comment, then, I'm sorry it went astray!

Spending the extended time with my daughter was definitely one of the positive things to come from this time of Covid! :)

How exciting to find a Sri Lankan restaurant in your area! You couldn't go wrong with rice and chicken curry with any of the vegetable sides they may offer, such as dhal curry (lentils), green beans, etc. If they have stringhoppers/indiappam (a type of rice noodles), that's one of my favorites - it will probably be accompanied by a coconut milk gravy/sauce and chicken or meat curry. If they offer coconut flat bread "pol roti" or "pittu" (which is made with steamed flour mixed with coconut), that's delicious, too. Both roti and pittu will need some kind of curry to go with it. I hope you enjoy it, if you do try it. :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-81554663090531383952022-04-22T17:40:18.058-07:002022-04-22T17:40:18.058-07:00Thank you, Chris.
