I just want to make sure that my daughter is safe. :) Yes, she wanted to be at the airport early, just in case there were problems with getting there or any last minute changes. She once came really close to missing a flight, once, a few years ago, when BART was not running as scheduled due to some maintenance problems (first, they were running late and then, midway to the Oakland airport, they had to get off the subway and take a bus to the next subway station and the freeway was closed due to an accident), which made her late to get to the airport and then, there was a long line for checking in. They were making the last boarding call when she finally got to the gate! After that, she builds in even more time to get to the airport!
Thank you; I am planning to make another pot of soup, tomorrow - it's supposed to be cool and rainy, next week; I think soup would be good, don't you?Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-71693647419943341422022-11-06T17:27:56.494-08:002022-11-06T17:27:56.494-08:00Thank you, Lady Ella. Yes, anything can happen anywhere, but, it's a mother's responsibility to worry about her child's safety! :D She had a safe ride to the airport, a safe flight, a safe journey to the hotel, and a good evening with friends, yesterday. She said she was tired enough to fall asleep almost as soon as she went to bed, last night. Today, she had a busy day of work shops and tomorrow will be another busy day of work shops and she will give a presentation. :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-42502447904163018042022-11-06T17:27:51.352-08:002022-11-06T17:27:51.352-08:00Glad your daughter arrived safely. I'm hoping there will be more flowers, later on, in the spring and some fruits next summer!
Thank you, Bushlady; the early morning flight was the only non-stop flight she could take and she didn't want to endure more than one take off and landing, as she dislikes flying, especially the take off/landing parts! Which required her to take a ride service during the wee hours. But, it all went well and now, she's there, safely, attending the conference and meeting up with a few friends in the evenings.
I'm glad you were able to attend church, today, and sing in the choir. Healing thoughts and prayers are continuing on their way to both you and your husband. Not that it helps to worry, but, I tend to reassure my daughter that everything will be fine and worry inside! She's the same! I guess it's how we show we care. :)
I'm glad that she was able to catch up with some friends and do some fun activities together. I wouldn't be surprised if she gets together with some of them again, tonight, too. It'll be a good distraction from her being nervous about giving a presentation at the conference, tomorrow.

I'm glad the furnace will be inspected, tomorrow! It's supposed to be colder (forecast says a high of 61F) and rainy tomorrow through Wednesday. I might be tempted to turn the heater on even if it wasn't safety inspected! LOL.
My daughter said that Boston was supposed to be in the low to mid 70s during her stay! That's warmer than Berkley! It's 71F outside and something like 62F inside! I have the doors and windows open and the drapes opened to get as much of that warm air in and passive solar heating! I might do a bit of baking tonight, just to warm up the house!
Your soup sounds delicious. I think I, too, will make another batch of soup, tomorrow. I'm being lazy and having one of my instant cup noodles for lunch, today!
Hope you are enjoying your Sunday, Debra. It was easier for her to stay up and sleep on the plane. I suppose it also helped her to adjust to the time change as she was tired enough to fall asleep at a decent hour according to Boston time (3 hours ahead of us). I know anything can happen anywhere but after all your recent reports of violence, I suppose it isn't surprising that you think about these things and worry more for her. Hope she has a successful and enjoyable time in Boston. I used to have to get very early flights too, and I remember how stressful it was, needing to leave for the airport at 4am. I could never sleep a wink the night before, worrying I would miss the alarm. Of course I arrived exhausted and then had to put in a full day's work, usually followed by some evening engagement too. How nice that she was able to be with friends later.
Thank you for your healing thoughts, much appreciated. I got DH to drive me to church today and I was able to sing in the choir, as they were low in numbers. It was probably easier than being in the congregation.
