It was she who encouraged me to take dance classes at the same studio where she was taking classes. I thought she'd be embarrassed - after all, she was a teenager and I was some 185 lbs. and had two left feet! But no, she was very encouraging and proud of me for doing it! The studio had an annual concert and daughter and I were in the same dance routine a couple of times and it was so much fun! The studio closed when the instructor moved to another state. Daughter and I continued to take some ballet classes together, but then, her schedule became too busy and we stopped. We are presently at 15 degrees here in Kingston (in the morning on June 17th)according to our weather app. Actually, it is reportedly feeling like 14 Celcius, which translates to 57 degrees Farenheight, which is HALF of your temperature. If it were possible we would gladly average out our two temperatures. I would gladly give up half our rain as well. So far our summer has been almost non-existent. At least yesterday had some periods of sun (and 17 degrees), but today feels downright frigid. Hopefully, this will be the coldest it gets. This afternoon, it is supposed to climb to 18 degrees. Woo Hoo! I remember when we lived in Thunder Bay (Northwestern Ontario), there was a whole week of above 100 degrees Farenheight. It was impossible for me to do anything but take cool showers and lie on top of my bed. I don't know how you get anything done.
Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11631937559197478236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-66015193210970589562017-06-27T04:55:45.672-07:002017-06-27T04:55:45.672-07:00I love that your daughter is so encouraging and te...I love that your daughter is so encouraging and tells you to believe in yourself :) 108F is very hot! I don't feel the heat too badly, especially since it is not humid. I'm not likely to engage in vigorous exercise or anything like that, but sitting down at the sewing machine with a fan blowing on me is pleasant. It is supposed to cool down to the 70s, later this week, so that will be a welcome change.

Hope you are having a fine day, today. Well done.

I'd have your gardener friend put the window unit in sooner than later. The city and county have opened designated cooling centers (senior citizen centers, recreation centers, etc.) and they will be open for extended hours for folks without air conditioning. The malls, too, tend to be a popular place to hang out when it is hot. I'm lucky I can escape to my air conditioned office, this summer (unlike last summer, when I worked from home).Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-14540810061801913212017-06-26T10:29:35.092-07:002017-06-26T10:29:35.092-07:00Carolyn, I've been watering every other day, b...Carolyn, I've been watering every other day, but if it gets any hotter (and it will, probably towards the end of summer/early fall - it always does), then, I'll need to water daily! Which is why so much of my garden died last summer, when it got hot and I wasn't well enough to water as often as I should plus with the drought, I had reduced my watering to once, or maybe twice, a week.

Let's just say that I am trying to sew my own clothes! :D I am not sure how well this blouse will fit. The proof will be in the wearing! Mother used to go downtown to the "Garment District" which sells fabric, trimmings, and clothing at wholesale prices with one of her friends every so often and buy fabric for a dollar or two a yard and trimmings for a few cents per yard.

It has been a nice visit. I'll miss her when she leaves. We haven't decided when her next visit will be.

Hope you stay cool in your heatwave, Carolyn. Summer really isn't the time for us to garden. Nor is early Fall. Mid-October to Spring is the best time.

I might, eventually, have my gardener friend set up the window a/c in my bedroom. I generally don't need it till later in the summer.

I usually pick words that I can remember without any difficulty. But, this time, daughter suggested that I changed things a bit more, so I did. I did write them down, though. :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-80591202260549790832017-06-26T09:59:07.962-07:002017-06-26T09:59:07.962-07:00Wow that is some extreme heat! I have stand fans in addition - one in the living room-dining area, 2 others in the family room that get moved as needed, and a table fan in the kitchen, on top of one of the counters. So far, I've only needed to have just one fan on at a time. There have been days when it gets so hot even inside the house that I've had more than one fan going at the same time.

Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-33331396440750802062017-06-26T07:14:33.058-07:002017-06-26T07:14:33.058-07:00Oh my ...
