The cake was delicious; I'm saving the rest for another time. You had mentioned those Boston Cream mini donuts; they sound like just the thing for a Sunday afternoon treat. :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-4267644923174003322021-11-14T13:45:19.671-08:002021-11-14T13:45:19.671-08:00I'm trying to ration the treats! It's crossed off the list in an attempt to trick myself that I have already eaten it (so I won't keep thinking about that piece of cake waiting for me in the fridge!) :DBlesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-52161469997072983582021-11-14T13:40:30.422-08:002021-11-14T13:40:30.422-08:00Much as I enjoy celebrating, I think I had better ...Much as I enjoy celebrating, I think I had better stop before I gain any weight! I'm supposed to be trying to lose some! :D

We fill dates with whole cashews or, even better, marzipan! I'm sure that peanut butter would be delicious, too. :) Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-60760247222505050802021-11-14T13:31:01.405-08:002021-11-14T13:31:01.405-08:00Always good to have prolonged birthday celebration...Always good to have prolonged birthday celebrations I think. They have a golden yellow color!
I had bought some needlepoint kits, a long time ago, with a falling leaf theme, which came with wool embroidery yarn in shades of brown. I thought they would make a nice set of coasters. I did one and the others sat in a bag for the longest time. I was almost hoping that I still had them and looked in the garage where I had last seen them, but, I think I donated them in a previous decluttering session. If I had them, I could have used the yarn from them for the basket! My eyesight is not good enough for needlepoint, anymore! This reminds me of one of my friend's daughter who has a birthmonth, not a birthday!

One of the suggestions I picked up from the nutrition class was to fill a date with a spoonful of peanut butter and then freeze it for a luxurious treat. Hopefully you will figure out something to use for the basket.
Reading your post reminded me how I would often see little grab bags of crewel wool or embroidery floss in church thrift stores for 50 cents or so. Sometimes there would be charming little pieces of work half finished. I haven't gone to many thrift stores or yard sales because of Covid and also now I find myself thinking, "Am I just going to be decluttering this item a few years down the road?" lol. 56stepshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06714155300369089630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-55406647864342675712021-11-14T04:20:07.564-08:002021-11-14T04:20:07.564-08:00It sounds like you among others, you have gotten a...It sounds like you among others, you have gotten a very good birthday gift from Nature--warm weather.
