I used to put up some fall decorations, then, I stopped doing that for some reason. Maybe I'll make an effort, this year, and do something! :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-41976314355020385972021-09-25T05:27:15.903-07:002021-09-25T05:27:15.903-07:00I am not a summer person really so the arrival of ...I am not a summer person really so the arrival of Fall and cooler weather is welcome to me.
I have cereal bowls that are sort of square (although they bow out at the top)
Each side has different colored flowers on them. To me the colors of the flowers align with the seasons. On the first day of the new season I turn the stack of 3 bowls in my cabinet to face forward with the new season's flowers.
The flowers are orange on the fall side. So silly I guess but I like doing it and have done it for years.
Another thing I do on the first day of fall is put out some amber chandelier drop crystals my mother gave me years ago for a chandelier in the home I was living in at the time. They look pretty on the dining room table in a little pile :)56stepshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06714155300369089630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-80020056686432966302021-09-24T17:11:51.601-07:002021-09-24T17:11:51.601-07:00I've read that "fall" was common aro...I've read that "fall" was common around the time of the first colonists and then, after Independence was declared, it was promoted as American English as opposed to British English when the newly formed United States were trying to establish themselves as a new country. :)

I really like the flowers on that one rose plant as there are no two alike! We usually get plenty around this time of year and with all the rain that is continuing, I'm sure plenty are planning to pop up in the yard. I'm hoping for a giant puffball. We had a couple on the edge of the driveway last year and one got run over and I didn't know they were edible so I left the other till it was too far gone to harvest.Bushladynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-40856966461863743272021-09-23T11:40:40.992-07:002021-09-23T11:40:40.992-07:00I think we say fall more often than autumn, here, ...I think we say fall more often than autumn, here, in the US. :) Glad you are enjoying cooler, fall-like temperatures, right now. I played an etude, Arabesque, and Hedwig's Theme (the the first part). I made a few mistakes and was very slow in my tempo, but, I muddled through! I need to practice earlier in the day when there is more natural light - and maybe switch my glasses to a stronger pair! I will play through those same pieces today and then, try some newer pieces, over the weekend. I don't feel any ill effects from sitting at the piano, but, I think I will need to place a pillow on it for longer practice sessions! :DBlesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-49042737187147384192021-09-23T06:20:26.820-07:002021-09-23T06:20:26.820-07:00I use the word fall rather than autumn nearly all ...I use the word fall rather than autumn nearly all the time.
