When I was small I was good at making up rhymes as I enjoy playing with words, and I have a good sense of rhythmn, but decent adult poetry is beyond me - I always want to over explain things rather than just give an indication and let the reader's imagination take over! :o(Lady Ellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17050899813793376037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-57812066541833302952021-02-23T13:15:40.919-08:002021-02-23T13:15:40.919-08:00I remember bits and pieces of poems I learned, but...I remember bits and pieces of poems I learned, but, one of the good things about the internet is, I can type in the line or two that I remember and it gives me the poem! I have a couple of books of poetry and two big books of poems that I wrote as a teenager! I remember being so confused by it - I was growing up in a tropical country where the sun always set at 6:00 p.m. all year round. I didn't know about the longer daylight hours in summer, and wondered why the child in the poem had to go to bed by day! :D

Hope you have a fine walk, tomorrow.Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-32549044676250198182017-01-21T18:31:27.548-08:002017-01-21T18:31:27.548-08:00I had the same book when I was a child! I was always reminded of it when I was working at 3.30am and having to go to bed early and get up early lol.

It was actually sunny here today! Tomorrow is supposed to be showery in the afternoon but mild (unusual for us) so we think we might go for a walk in the morning.

Have a great weekend!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03039174572211086359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-42903037828609145332017-01-21T16:48:10.943-08:002017-01-21T16:48:10.943-08:00Ha, ha, that poem rings very true! We are having a sunny day, today, but more rain is forecasted for tomorrow and Monday.

Maybe you can learn to alter clothes by taking some sewing classes? Or, these days, there are so many how-to videos on-line. Maybe both you and your daughter can take the sewing classes together?

Yes, my daughter chose a positive way to channel her energy, didn't she? One good thing this election has done is make my daughter more politically aware.

Hope you, too, have a good weekend, Nathalie.Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-55133733265833338322017-01-21T05:03:25.565-08:002017-01-21T05:03:25.565-08:00It's good you have the skills to alter your sk...It's good you have the skills to alter your skirt. I hope all we got is rain... Daughter and I are supposed to attend an Antiques Extravaganza outdoors and hopefully the high winds won't make that too challenging. We'll go in the morning.

I'm envious of people like you who know how to take in clothes and "let them out" too. Me, I just keep all the clothes that I own in every size from 8 to 1XL, so as my weight changes I do have things to wear, even though they might be out of style :) Oh well, I spent 90% of my time at home and in shorts and Tshirts so it doesn't matter too much. Still, it's a skill that I would have liked to have. Both my grandmothers knew how to do that, but my mom never learned and so she didn't pass it on to me, and I can't pass it on to my daughter either :(

I hope you have a nice weekend, Bless. Your daughter chose a positive and productive way to spend Friday, she's a great person.Nathaliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01654610295436446555noreply@blogger.com
