I will continue to make the front garden more drought-tolerant, over the summer. Water less frequently, but, more deeply is what they say, over here. I water the front garden with the hose once a week, now, and in between, I water the rose bush, the jasmine vine, and the pomegranate tree with grey water I've collected in buckets. The back garden is still getting watered twice a week and the vegetable plants might get a 3rd watering when the temperatures are above 95F. I don't use grey water on the vegetable plants. Good luck with keeping your plants watered. :)

Glad to hear that the blanket is completed and Oleg loves it! :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-30070571681135310722022-06-24T16:26:23.890-07:002022-06-24T16:26:23.890-07:00That was fun to see, Bless! One of his other clients had wanted pink snapdragons and one of the packs of flowers he had bought for her had two or three yellow plants which she had rejected, so he asked if I'd like to have them; I'm not fussy when it comes to free plants and I enjoyed seeing the flowers. Now, here is an offspring from those plants, growing in a totally unexpected place! I will point it out to M, today; I think he'll find it amusing. :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-19672130656409759362022-06-24T16:12:06.932-07:002022-06-24T16:12:06.932-07:00Thank you, Bushlady; I've seen a few blogs whe...Thank you, Bushlady; I've seen a few blogs where they photographed a tree throughout the year. That's also a beautiful photo of the pomegranates in the evening light.

The water restrictions must be frustrating. Yesterday and today have been relatively cool here so I have not watered other than to make sure the courgettes are damp. Tomorrow is not forecast to be too hot either, so I'll water in the morning and then perhaps not till Sunday evening. I'm trying to be responsible but obviously I will keep an eye on how things look. Watering a little less often might also do some good as I've heard it encourages the roots to go deeper... but I don't know how brave I am to test the theory too rigorously! My butts are almost empty already!

Ella

PS. Blanket is complete and Oleg loves it!
